The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is in the process of developing a mission called ESCAPE ( Extreme ultraviolet Stellar Characterization for Atmospheric Physics and Evolution).
The aim of the mission is to reach beyond the solar system to find out planets with thicker atmospheres so that it could support life. However, the mission if accepted would be launched by 2025 which would evaluate more than 200 stars to stream the radiations from them.
The final decision whether to go ahead with the project or to hold it would be taken in 2021. ESCAPE would be making use of various technological advancements which include a telescope. The telescope would help to measure the ultraviolet radiation of stars from a distant place.
The mission would be very helpful to find out whether is it possible to predict life in planets beyond the solar system or not. There are two projects under NASA’ Explorer’s program including ESCAPE as one of the competitors as the satellite which would go into space.
The satellite weighs around 300 pounds and would be 7-feet long. Indeed, the project designed is really interesting and an ambitious one.
If this mission goes as planned, it would scientists to identify the location of aliens and it would help the whole world to know a lot about extraterrestrial life.
