An app that allows you to share your car journey with a parcel heading to the same location. Here is how it works:
The situation: You are about to make a long car journey so why not check an app for any parcels in your area that need to make the same journey.
The App:(General idea)Senders, Drivers and collectors. Senders will add the job, parcel information, locations, price and a time limit before the parcel is sent via a courier. Drivers will be registered to accept the parcel and GPS tracked to make the journey. Collectors will verify the deliveries arrival and the driver will be paid from the senders account.
The benefits: You can offset the delivery fee against your cost of travel to make your journey cheaper as well as reduce the emissions of the delivery compared to a courier service. Successful ParcelSeat deliveries should be complete within 6-24 hours after accepting the job making our delivery times some of the fastest in the world.(Times based on deliveries within a 12 hour drive radius also collected within 12 hours of accepting the job.)
More Information: Senders can track the driver prior to collection while both sender and collector can see the drivers info, location and arrival time. Drivers will be considered members of the public and will not ‘necessarily’ make profit from this service (dependant on the fee set by the sender). It is only intended to offset some of their travel costs on a journey they would have made anyway. This service is intended for peer-to-peer use however, with the ability to track the driver and have approximately 6-24 hour delivery time we anticipate a larger application and demand. Note: This is not a private courier service and reliability depends on the numbers of users within the radius of the senders.
What your funding will do: Your funds will help build our app allowing us to verify market demand and find more investors. Become apart of our journey and watch as our business story unfolds with your backing. Let’s cut travel costs, reduce emissions and speed up your country.
There’s a couple big risks and challenges for our business model. Firstly is finding users that are willing to deliver a parcel on their journey in return for reduced travel costs and environmental benefits. Secondly is reliability, we need drivers in the same radius location as the senders which may be a challenge at first with small user numbers.
