During these last months, I have noticed the enormous difficulty that a sick person has, or as a prevention, in the timely administration of the various medications assigned to him by a doctor. The names of the medicines are not friendly, the doses can be confusing and the hours of supply of a pill can vary over time. Or, worse still, what would happen if a person could not read well and take the wrong pill, or at the wrong time, or at the wrong doses?
Many times it is a family member who has to prepare the pillbox with all those daily, weekly, monthly boxes. And what happens if it falls to the floor? A disaster. Hundreds of unnamed pills, lost and probably unusable. Who would run the risk of putting them back in their place, with the fear of doing it wrong and causing harm to the patient?
At this moment this is just a prototype in my mind, but I expect to turn it into reality by the end of 2020. For that, I need your help.
These and many other questions came to mind, and I grouped them in this project that I describe in a timely manner with the most relevant features and benefits.
If funded, SmartPill will enter in the prototyping process, requiring effort and commitment to develop what I truly believe will be an innovation in patients treatment efficiency.
Thank you for your help.
As a prototype, there is a true risk that it won’t work as expected, as every project in the world. But I truly believe that this risk is worth to get. To me, it is more risky to let an elder person to auto medicate or take the wrong pill at the wrong moment without being monitored by a relative or a doctor. Investing in this project could save lives. Many lives, thousand of lives. Including yourself.
