I’ve been going to sporting events all over the country for most of my life and I have always loved the sense of community that builds around teams formed by people from all walks of life. These people are bound by history, tradition, pride, and a sense of belonging.

Our goal is to create a web series that will allow us to share these histories, traditions, and game day experiences. We’ll go to college football towns and immerse ourselves in the fandom during the days leading up to and including game day. We will share the history of the town, school, and team, learn the traditions, chants, and cheers, find the popular places around town/campus, how the fans prepare for game day, and showcase how they celebrate game day. We will document these activities, our interactions with these fans, and their game day culture as we become Fans 4 a Day. This project is intended to be a fun experience and allow fans a chance to show their pride and share what is great about their team to the world.
We want to shoot a pilot episode before the fall and we have picked a Portland Timbers Major League Soccer match this April 25th, 2020 versus the Vancouver Whitecaps as our test run. The Timbers have some of the most rabid fans in all of sports in the U.S. and feel it’s a perfect place to kick start this project. Vancouver is one of their biggest rivals so the atmosphere around this match should be pretty electric.
This is our first joint venture and it involves a lot of cooperating factors beyond our control. As long as we can keep it fun and find some fun loving fans to interview and share their experiences with us we should be okay.
