At its core, Pineapple is an intense truth or lie game where you present your fellow players with extremely deep prompts. Some will be lying and it is your job to find the liars. Don’t be afraid to get serious or awkward or weird with your prompts. There are no points, no winners, and no losers. The goal is to learn more about people you’ve known for a long time or just met.
Creating your own prompts is one of the best parts of Pineapple, but sometimes people get stuck or simply want some examples. I’ve put together a group of designers who are not only some of the best in the business, but I have the honor of calling friends. Each one will create their own card of prompts for Pineapple if their stretch goal is unlocked.
Like you, I am clueless around what they will create, and extremely excited to find out!
Pineapple is incredibly easy to learn. And once a few people at the table know how to play, adding in new players is incredibly easy. This works incredibly well if you have friends who are consistently late, or if someone needs to abruptly leave. Since Pineapple has no points, winners, or losers, it is the perfect game at a bar, party, or family gathering. But look out. Things might get weird.
Below is a link to the draft rules. This is a living document and will be updated both during and after the campaign. It may even die. Enjoy it while it lives!

Hi! My name is Jonathan Ritter-Roderick and I’m the designer of Pineapple. I’ve been working in the tabletop industry for over 5 years, splitting my time between Lay Waste Games (CoFounder and CoOwner) and Other Stuff Games (CoFounder and CoOwner). While I have helped countless folks get their own games made, I’ve never made my own. Until now!
Pineapple came to be while playing games with various friends after working long convention days. With the help of some cards from various other games, we began asking each other very odd questions, often diving into very sensitive topics. The conversations were always rewarding, and by the end of the games, we knew a little more about each other.
With your help, we can get Pineapple made and into your hands so you can experience the weirdness too!
If you want to see all the games I’ve worked on, visit www.otherstuff.games and www.laywastegames.com.
