The plan to disrupt the toothfairy industry:
Starting with the sweets-rot-your-teeth, candy silkscreen monoprint series, these prints will be design inspiration for sticker sets and are of limited edition.
Then onto: color-your-own-t-shirts
and converting illustrations from the original accordion artist’s book–to a full color, interactive maze-like concertina book with additional handmade papers sewn in, as featured in the video
-but all of this, is a means to an end.. .
With your help, I can finish designing and patterning the original inspiration -silk pillowforms and paper pillowboxes- that will act as a cocoon for the milktooth’s safekeeping – through its metamorphosis into – the toothflyer!
Understanding the risks and challenges inherent in any Kickstarter, I am confident that the preparation invested in daydreaming, incubating, and attending workshops to creating mock ups have prepared me for the next level of this unique venture. Now it is a matter of streamlining, and putting all of this research and planning to work! It is time to test the product and get feedback –LET’S ACTUALIZE– and refine –with a preorder campaign!! Your support will power this project from handmade books to pillows and beyond ! How the money gets spent: I have arranged to rent time at my teacher, Master Paper Maker Claudia Lee’s studio space Liberty Paper Mill, for handmade paper additions tbd/$150 a day. Here I have access to a 2lb Hollander beater, whiz mixer, hydraulic press, restraint forced air dryer, vacuum table and assorted moulds / deckles to complete the project. https://www.claudialeepaper.com Her beautiful handmade paper bags are the inspiration and the #cherriesicingsprinkles to serve up my #Make100toothflyers and the #sweetsrotyourteeth campaign!
