From the creation of our brand, our goal was to create a watch with a perpertually floating, spinning bullet second hand.
When creating our first timepiece, we spoke to a number of factories to make this happen. However, we quickly learned that a floating perpetual second hand required a lot more effort to create, because of the factors that were needed to make it happen.
These factors included: weight, balance, and the power generated by its movement.
Because of the many obstacles that we had faced, we initially settled on using the bullet as the hour hand, which put less stress on the overall mechanics, and required a lot less effort in engineering. This manifested into becoming the Q-series, which we launched in 2015.
Although we were satisfied with our first watch release, we still dreamed of achieving our original goal. Since our launch, we’ve been consulting with many of the industry leaders to engineer this project. We finally landed on one that satisfied all of our stringent demands, and four years later we were able to accomplish our goal. We are extremely happy with the end results. The measurements of all aspects of the watch were precise, and perfectly blended form with function. Being off even a fraction of a millimeter would make a major difference in the overall balance, which made our accomplishment that much sweeter.
Here is How the Spinning Bullet Hand Spins at 4x Speed:
The progression of the timeline goes as follows:
In 2015, we released the Q-series watch. We.ve learned so much about what it takes to create unique and lasting timepieces. Version 2 of the Q-series came in 2017 as we improved upon the second hand rotation, aesthetics, and crystal height. Taking our knowledge, we were able to create the R88 in 2019. From the first prototype, we’ve vastly improved its lume distribution, bullet aesthetics, and overall presentation.
Because so much went into designing this piece, we made sure to add the best quality materials for every component used to build this watch. Here are the specs:
We will have 2 variations:
——————————————————————
Model A: The R88 with bracelet:
In an all stainless piece, we knew that it would be crucial to have a high-end feeling bracelet to create the ultimate daily wear experience.
Initially, we wanted to create a RVLVR brand bracelet. But after much thought, we’ve decided on ordering every bracelet from Strapcode- one of the most reputable companies in the business. Strapcode sets the bar for enthusiasts, often being the first chioce amongst the most detail-oriented hobbyists, ranging from fans of Seiko to Rolex.
We first learned about this bracelet almost a decade any years ago- before RVLVR was even a brand, as hobbyists; when scouring the internet forums for the best available bracelets. For unbiased reviews, I’d recommend you checking out sites like Amazon and inputting “Strapcode” into the search field.
Here are some shots of the R88 on my 6.5″ wrist!
My wife actually really likes the sizing for her as well

Model B: The AR-1 with (Fluororubber) FKM Strap:
FKM rubber (otherwise known as Fluororubber) is among the densest and highest quality types of rubber used in the industry. It is the choice of high-end brands, often used in timepieces costing thousands of dollars, as it is durable, comfortable, and retains its qualities over time. It is resistant to dust, stretching, fading, etc and keeps its feel even after years of use.

The lume was upgraded multiple times through the prototyping process, to create a bright and even glow, with our signature crosshair pattern on the outer edges of the dial. We’ve applied multiple coats of C3 Super Luminova to create a beautiful glow in the dark pattern.
The crown will be marked with the limited edition “Recon R” Emblem- this particular piece will not sell over 88 pieces, no matter the demand:
At a 40.5mm casing size, the R88 was designed to be versatile- both dressy and sporty. With a smaller case size, it will be an eye-catcher in all lights, as the dial pops and the casing reflects brilliance from its multi-chamfered contrast:
Here is the special we’re currently running:
My name is Dan Uchida, and I’m the owner of RVLVR. I started my journey as a second amendment enthusiast, and being a watch lover and collector, I was able to combine these two industries and form the brand RVLVR. We are based out of Honolulu, Hawaii, and every piece will be inspected and shipped from here.
Thanks so much for taking the time to check out our story! I will do my best to take care of any customer questions or concerns. Check out our story at www.rvlvr.com, or you can reach me personally at anytime at dan@rvlvr.com
Although there are always risks of factory delays, we will do our very best to make sure that this gets delivered in a timely manner to our customers. If the project passes the goal earlier on, we will put our own funds behind it to get the production started early. We will update all of our customers on the progress through milestone updates
