The American Board of Trial Advocates, is the preeminent national association committed to raising the standards of the legal profession and preserving the Seventh Amendment.
Founded in 1958, the organization is comprised of highly experienced trial attorneys and judges, all of whom are dedicated to preserving and promoting the Seventh Amendment, which guarantees the right to a civil jury trial. Membership is by invitation only, reserved for those who demonstrate extensive litigation experience and adhere to ABOTA’s Code of Professionalism and Principles of Civility.
ABOTA has Chapters in all 50 states, as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. As President, Pete Patterson will lead the Houston, TX Chapter in carrying out ABOTA’s mission. The Chapter’s activities and involvement will include interacting with the judiciary, educating and recognizing jurors, providing graduating law students with scholarships, and speaking at local schools.
Mr. Patterson is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, and multiple lawyers’ associations. With more than 29 years of experience in personal injury and business litigation, he is Board Certified in both Personal Injury Trial Law and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
