On the black moors of northern England in the shadow of an modern missile base, a band of Druids enact their pagan rites… Rites which unleash a nightmare vision of two unspeakable horrors – ancient supernatural evil and nuclear catastrophe…
Room 5064 Productions are offering you the chance to get in on their latest project early – a full cast audio drama adaptation of classic folk horror novel THE HUNGRY MOON, with permission and input from its legendary author Ramsey Campbell.
This is our inaugural crowdfunding campaign – there will be more! – and rewards include pre-sales at bargain prices, autographed by Mr Campbell if you wish, or even one chance to invest in the project and benefit from any profits it makes in perpetuity.
First published in 1986, THE HUNGRY MOON won the British Fantasy Award for Best Novel. Set in an isolated Peak District village, it brilliantly combines the fear of a nuclear holocaust with the resurgence of an ancient supernatural evil. Stephen King, a longstanding fan of Campbell’s work, said of THE HUNGRY MOON
“[Campbell] uses the Lovecraftian themes of survival, the occult and the things which may live at the rim of our universe in a way that rings true for our time.”
Ramsey Campbell is an English horror fiction writer, editor and critic who has been writing for well over 50 years. He is the author of over 30 novels and hundreds of short stories, many of them widely considered classics in the field. Influenced by H.P. Lovecraft, M.R. James, Arthur Machen, Fritz Leiber and Algernon Blackwood, he’s considered to be “Britain’s greatest living horror writer” (Alan Moore), with Lovecraft scholar S.T. Joshi declaring that, “Future generations will regard [Campbell] as the leading horror writer of our generation.”

This project is happening one way or another, but we need your help to ensure it is the best it can possibly be. With Kickstarter funding, we can start contacting some great actors – people already known from cult hits on TV, screen and radio. Who they’ll turn out to be largely depends on you…
