In March 2020 I will head down to the legendary FAME studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama to record an entire album with Bo Ramsey and a collection of local Muscle Shoals players.
This will include a couple of the original “Swampers” (David Hood and Spooner Oldham). WHAT?!
I am also very honored to work with Curry Weber (of Ardent and Sun Studio in Memphis, TN) as mixing engineer. It is a dream team, a once in a lifetime crew! I cannot wait to hear the music we will create in the same room that helped produce such classics as Wilson Pickett’s “When a Man Loves a Woman” and “Mustang Sally,” Aretha’s “I Never Loved a Man The Way I Love You,” and Etta James’“Tell Mama” and “I’d Rather Go Blind,” among many, many others!
Please take the time to check out the rewards in the right-side column. I truly cannot make an album like this without your support. Please help me make this dream come true! I am very grateful for all of your support in the past and any contribution is welcome in this new adventure!
– Chad Elliott
P.S. Below are images of original acrylic on canvas paintings available in the rewards section at various price levels. Only one is available of each – get them while they last!
The studio time is reserved and the players are scheduled, so the risks are few. It’s useful to note, that $25,000 will get the album recorded and printed, but it won’t buy publicity. This is the most-common struggle of independent artists. Publicity can easily be $5,000 for a small, close-to-DIY package and upwards of $10,000 or even $20,000 for meaningful publicity help. We’re still working on how to make this happen. An excellent album should be heard in a big way and hiring a skilled team to make this possible is the best way to get it to listeners around the world.
