I love messenger bags and thus have made it a story I wanted to document and share with the world. As I knew I was not the only one who love messengers bags. So when I saw what I thought was a very special messenger in Montreal in 2017 I immediately thought that a photo of that bag could be an ice breaker in telling the stories of messenger bags. As my first edition of “The Culture Of Messenger Bags brought out that excitement in the global messenger and street wear communities that I knew was there. Thus I knew I needed to make a second edition right away except this time I couldn’t rely on financing the project myself. Thus I decide to seek out support with the Kick Starter community and my many fans around the world who also love messenger bags. For there support I would offer an exclusive supporter items and make Kick Starter community the first customers to get the book In the 2nd edition I showcase more messenger bag from around the world. Showing how courier identify with there messenger bags and bring forth photos of one of kind hand crafted messenger prize bags. I again list the bag makers of each bag in the table of content. Reload Bags, Chrome Industries, Bailey Works, BagJack, Pac Design, Timbuk 2, Ortlieb Waterproof, Mer Bags and Blahol to name some of them.
I already have the photographs needed to make the 2nd Edition. So with my supporters backing I can pay the designers, printer and do some marketing to reach more messenger bags lovers. Maybe even try to get a filmmaker involve to do documentary about “The Culture Of Messenger Bags”. I have thought carefully about the rewards that I know most of my fans would like. The most important one for those supporters is being the first to receive a signed copy of the book and an exclusive collectible showing they were a supporter of the book. Here I have some images of what to expect in the book, the book cover for first edition as well as what the cover will look like for the 2nd edition. I have also include the image of the patch reward and an image of the bag that will go to the Ultimate Supporter.
There is always a risk when publishing a new book. I have published over 11 books. For each book I produce I carefully write a production and marketing plan. As a general rule I don’t go over my budget set aside to make a new book. If there are extra expenses in producing a book I fund them myself.
