Washington, DC
Dear Friends,
Please help us raise $10,000 for our artist fees!
WHY WE ASK FOR YOUR SUPPORT
Your contribution of any amount will help pay for rehearsal and performance fees for our remarkable dance artists Connor Voss, Atlas Hill, and Angad Kalsi, lighting designer Ben Levine, scenic designer Sali Treek, and stage manager Annie Choudhury.
The evening will include the premieres of two solos and a revival of Take Me With You, which won the Dance Metro DC Award for Outstanding Overall Production in 2013. In exploring impending loss in the midst of longing for the Beloved, it asks unanswerable questions with disarming humor. And then there’s the blue floating shark.
Originally created in collaboration with Raja Feather Kelly and Connor Voss, Angad Kalsi and Atlas Hill now join the cast with an original score by Michael Wall.
In his new solo Heathens & Havens, Patrik depicts his ancestors’ exploitative roles in the colonization of and profiteering from religious and corporate ventures in South Africa, revealing a web of connections reminiscent of a suspense novel.
In The Sky is Falling, The Sky is Falling, Sara previews a talk/dance/object theater/live cinema extravaganza that in exploring lust, loss, regret, desire, and the beginning of the end, asks, “Did it ever occur to you that this wouldn’t last forever?”

PLEASE SUPPORT THE CREATION OF OUR NEW WORK AND OUR PERFORMANCES AT DANCE PLACE IN MARCH 2020 AND BEYOND!
We are so grateful for your belief in our work, and for your generous support throughout the past 32 years!
Sara & Patrik
With 1/2 of our budget already secured, this project will definitely happen. If we can’t raise the full amount, we will need to invite fewer dancers and have fewer rehearsals, as we are committed to our dance artists being paid a living wage!
