Dear Friends and Students,
As some of you know, I’ve been working on two Bonny Doon sketchbooks for several years. Our area of Bonny Doon, California is a very special place that contains a variety of habitats ranging from redwood forests to chaparral, and supports a diverse group of birds, insects, and many rare plants species. It has inspired me as an artist since childhood and I am eager to share it with you.
After first completing a volume on the flora and insects of Bonny Doon and the Bonny Doon Ecological Reserve that borders my home, I have begun work on the second volume featuring the marvelous birds that inhabit the same area.
Working with my book designer, Jennifer Barry, we have decided to combine both of the sketchbooks into one book that we intend to publish so that we can share this unusual place with everyone who loves nature as we do.
We are at the stage of putting the sketchbooks together into book form, which requires a lot of technical work to make it ready for publishing. This needs funding in order to be completed, so we are asking for donations from interested supporters.
Our goal is to raise $15,000 to enable us to complete the publisher-ready materials.
We invite you to be a part of making this unique book come to life!
Thank you for giving this a look!
Your friend,
Maryjo Koch
