When our eldest daughter got married in August 2017 we wanted to give her and her husband a unique but traditional gift. We are beekeepers, so Honey Mead came to mind. It is also a traditional gift. The myth says that the bride’s father would provide the couple a month (or moon) supply of mead, hence the term ”honeymoon.”
With some experimentation we developed a tasty, sweet mead that was very well-recieved among the wedding guests and again among the local populace when offered with honey tastings. We have been consistently asked where it can be bought, and why aren’t we offering our mead to the public. We have obtained a location, we are in the process of completing inspections and are seeking help with funding the purchase of the honey for our first 100 gallon batch of mead and an automatic labelling machine.
It’s been a challenge to get our rented space up to expectations which has delayed our opening and strained the budget.
