On the imprinted graphic designs: TieDi will be available in 2 patterns, if the project is successfully funded. We will create a page for you Backers to vote on the graphics and choose your design at project closing.
The more backers, the more graphics we can print & offer. Preliminarily, we plan to offer one additional graphics for every $25k in funding.
Murphy’s Law states that: “whatever can go wrong, will go wrong.” We take that to heart, and prepare accordingly. As full disclosure: 1) technology: we have matured the self-adhering functional fabric manufacturing technology. Earlier versions have already been applied to numerous kickstarter projects that have been successfully fulfilled (e.g. Swado, ok-Bon, Stiky, & Origami Bag.) 2) prototyping: we’ve made prototypes, and are testing them ourselves daily already. To help promote this TieDI KickStarter project, we are planning to send out > 100 samples, to influencers, including KickStarter office (and hope to gain a “Project We Love” designation). 3) COGS / pricing: we’ve deliberately under-priced the TieDi rewards, in hope of making a splash. We may cut close to losing money over this project when all is said & done, but we are prepared to see this as promotional investment. 4) fulfillment & logistics: we already partner with a 3PL warehouse in USA (Justified Logistics Systems, based in Bloomington, California) for Swado fulfillment. Our plan is to ship bulk to JLS, and fulfill individual backers’ rewards by using trackable courier services (likely combination of USPS & FedEx). 5) trade war: we are in Taiwan, not China. 6) natural disasters: earthquakes are prevalent possibility in California and Taiwan. Luckily, we are over the typhoon / hurricane season for this time of year. 7) too many backers: Jack work for Apple Operations in his past life. He welcomes high volume. We aim to tackle all challenges with advanced-preparation, micro-management, and a thankful heart. Please support us.
