Flowers without waste
We are a group of three architects who have been working on recycling and social issues for a long time. Our adventure began with a collaboration with the prisons of Milan, where we realized how much the topic of plastic waste is even more pronounced than in our daily life. In 2017, with a wider team, we made the furnishings of a cell made of recycled plastic ( suspended rooms ), today still visible as a pilot cell at the fourth ray of the prison of S. Vittore.
Following a contact with ICAM (Institute for Diminished Custody for Mothers inmates), we were commissioned to organize a workshop with the inmates, which saw the participation of a famous Milanese florist, Gardenia magazine and us as designers: as plastic protagonist recycled. Hence the idea of vases, the result of the collection of caps of the entire community that revolves around detention.
The realization of plastic prototypes in the second life was very complicated in understanding how to treat the material and the absence of professional equipment: dedicated ovens, molds, cutting machines, aggregates etc. We were able to create molds
