SHEER creates garments that combine the extraordinary performance of merino wool with time-tested designs. Simple, but stylish men’s essentials that you can wear for days, even weeks – without the need to wash them.
Our fabrics are custom made in Germany and Italy, each developed for longevity and a better style. We take a significant effort to reduce our environmental footprint and leaving the planet in a better condition as we found it.
Each piece is meticulously handmade by talented craftsmen with great attention to detail. The results are garments of zero-compromise quality, made to last forever. All of our clothing is made in Europe, by our exclusive partners. All of them, family-run factories, providing excellent working conditions, and using ecological production methods.
With our premium basics, we want to give clothes back their value. We share the story of each piece with you, provide a fully traceable supply chain, and a transparent price. As every man is different, our shirts are coming in 10 instead of the standard 5 sizes.
Garments for every occasion, from studio to state reception, which will bring out the true minimalist in you.
French cuffs, coupled with its slightly tailored sleek design and organic mother of pearl buttons, make it perfectly suitable for every person and any occasion.
We developed a dedicated yarn spun with high turns and twisted from two threads to create the first pure wool Oxford Cloth. Other than a plain weave, every two threads are crossed lying side by side, giving the fabric its legendary texture while its touch remains incredibly smooth. Oxford Cloth is known for its durability and versatility – and we added the performance of merino wool on top of that.
To make our T-Shirt the statement piece we wanted it to be, we developed a ribbed neckline from merino wool — a knitted accent that keeps its shape and gives our T-Shirts the long-lasting form and understatement it deserves. This leads to a collar that never looks wrinkled or messy. It also has tailored, mid-length sleeves, which will keep you looking fresh and feeling cool. Not to mention, its versatile design allows you to rock it with jeans, sweatpants or shorts.
It is important to note that our T-Shirt is also offered in natural white. Our team uses a special treatment to curate this color, which is not easy to produce in pure wool clothing. In fact, only a few companies have been able to do this in the past. Enjoy this exclusive option with SHEER!
Its elastic waistband and flat inside seams provide extra comfort and ventilation. Its double-lined cup and inner legs also provide an exceptional fit that will cover and protect your important areas. We wanted a fabric that lays on your body like a second skin, with all the benefits a merino wool fabric comes with. So, we added a small portion of stretch into the jersey to keep it up with any activity you might choose.
Size should never be an issue when purchasing your essentials. That’s why we offer a long version of any size in both the Oxford shirt and t-shirt crewneck. You now have ten size options instead of the traditional five (S-XXL).
That’s why we offer true transparency and tell the story of each garment. In turn, we can all understand the effects of our choices and make better ones.
Our yarn is spun in the Italian wool mecca, Biella. Our fabrics are made in Germany, Italy and Lithuania and the garments are then sewed in Portugal. All the factories are family-run and certified by several standards, in which they use regenerative energies and low-impact technologies to produce SHEER products.
Using sustainable raw materials, we can ensure the best treatment of animals and the land they live on. We also recollect worn-out pieces to recycle and reuse, and take pride in mending materials if they are broken or damaged.
Together with our partners, we’re able to develop better production methods that reduce our impact on the planet with each new production. Not to mention, our packaging is completely free of plastic!
After using merino wool for years in the sport and outdoor segments, we really missed out on incorporating it into daily essentials — we decided to do something about that.
After researching the best fabrics last October, we couldn’t find any that met our expectations. So, we developed them ourselves. We searched for family-owned craftsmen who offered the highest quality in their field. Following our concept of being fair and ecological, these needed to be made in Europe — beginning with the yarn up. We sourced partners in Germany and Northern Italy, staying close to our operations and using the best knowledge, processes, and experience we could find.
Our yarn for the Oxford shirt was specially developed for us in the wool mecca of Biella, Italy. For the cutting and sewing of the shirt, we found an old, high-end manufacturer who specialized in men’s shirts. We completed the same steps for our T-shirt Crewneck and Boxer Briefs, which are circular products knitted by top-qualified finishers and manufacturers.
Fast forward to today, and we now have some of the highest-quality and longest-lasting products that are 1. made from merino wool and 2. made by our partners who guarantee fair treatment to workers. Quality, transparency and sustainability are not just buzzwords for us — it’s our deep belief to produce state-of-the-art clothing for an educated generation of customers.
We founded SHEER out of the idea to get more out of less. With ethical and ecological everyday garments that are great in style and extraordinarily functional. As we worked with merino wool for longer than 12 years in performance apparel, we wanted to benefit from the material every day.
We, as a team, have been working together for years and founded or run three other businesses together. Since starting SHEER, we learned a ton about the details in making quality garments. We worked nights and weekends to realize our idea of the perfect merino wool everyday uniform and improved since the beginning to deliver exceptional quality.
We tested our products extensively and collected feedback from many people that got the chance to wear and experience them. These garments changed our view on clothing and our daily lives fundamentally. We live and consume more conscious ever since.
We are more than looking forward to soon sharing our first products with the world.

We can’t thank you enough for checking out our project and helping us make our line of merino wool basics a reality.
We know not everyone will be able to support us with a pledge, so even if you can’t give a dollar or pre-order anything from our line, you can help us spread the word on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Instagram and anywhere else you can think of!
There are always certain risks that can arise at any moment during a project like this. That being said, we’re confident in our ability to produce, and have taken all the necessary measures. We combine more than 35 years of experience in industrial manufacturing and supply chain. For 12 years, we produce merino wool clothing. Not for us, but retailers, as a white-label service. This experience and ten thousand manufactured pieces on time give us the confidence, to run the production with our new supply chain. We developed strong and lasting relationships with our production partners over the last 14 months. We now work with over 10 manufacturers in 4 countries, source eco-friendly, renewable, and organic materials, and run an independent fulfillment operation that ships to countries all over the world. We just need your help to bring everything to fruition. Don’t worry, we’re completely prepared to bring our line to your closets, and we have the manpower to make it happen, but if anything comes up along the way, you’ll be the first to know.
