Jenni continues her adventure through the Drifts (dimensional rifts) with Zayf, a lost traveller from an alternate dimension. Jenni has begun to meet “echoes” – strange and sometimes dangerous versions of people she knows from her own world!
What new challenges will they face in Echoes 3? Will they encounter more echoes and whose side will they be on? Join in the campaign for Echoes from the Drift 3 to find out!
Echoes from the Drift is a sci-fi adventure comic book series featuring all-new characters and stories that’s also aimed at people who love themes from the late ’70s and ’80s. The comic features coarse language (or as Spock would say, “colourful metaphors”), so it is intended for a more mature audience. However, the emphasis of the comic is on fun, action and drama.
So, come along and enjoy Jenni and Zayf’s wild adventure through parallel universes!
What is the aim of this campaign?
In this Kickstarter campaign, I’ll be creating the 3rd issue (22 pages) of a 5-issue story arc which will be available as print and digital copies. Echoes 1 & 2 are also available as Add-Ons for any Backers who would like to catch up on the story (see the Add-Ons section below).
The original pencilled and inked artwork from Echoes 3 is also available to Backers!
Plus, you have the chance to star in the comic as an Extra (background character)!
Check out all the Rewards below!
Some amazing guest artists will be creating artwork of Echoes characters! Now that the Digital Milestone has been reached, their artwork will be added to all Digital copies of Echoes 3! If the Print Stretch Goal is reached, then the art will be added to all Print copies! Check out the incredible guest artists below!
Andrew Richmond (@arichmondo) is a prolific artist who has worked on Wings of Terror, Greyborough, and Octobriana for Mondo Comix. He’s created hundreds of sketch cards of well-known personalities, UK architecture and friends, which have been compiled into a Daily Sketch book that is available now on Kickstarter! Andy’s subtle watercolours and oil paintings capture his subjects so well. I can’t wait to see his painting of… Jenni!
Rosie Packwood (@PocketM0use) is a wonderful comic artist whose work includes The Incredible Bun for Madius Comics – the ongoing “tail” of a giant rabbit – that has been funded on Kickstarter and Blinker – a sci-fi saga starring Merrik & his A.I. companion, Trixie. As you can see, Rosie has a wide range of styles and her colouring is vibrant with many subtleties. I’m very excited to see her take on… KL-0!

About Craig Petersen
Originally from New Zealand, I relocated to Europe in 2013. Thanks to a great group of Kickstarter backers, the campaigns for Echoes from the Drift 1 & 2 were successfully funded. The comics and artwork Rewards were completed and sent to Backers. Now, I’m continuing to follow my dreams of telling more of the Echoes story in comics.
I love comics. For me, comics are a powerful medium to tell stories. A combination of writing and visual language, the step between books and movies. Fuelled by creators’ imaginations and encouraging imagination in readers.
In New Zealand, I self-published the superhero series Southern Tribe from 1995 – 1998. In 2008 – 2009, I created the horror/comedy strip Close to Midnight for Rip It Up magazine. To view some of my other illustrations and sketches, please visit my website at: www.mechazoic.com
How are the Kickstarter funds going to be spent?
The funds will go towards the creation of the art, printing and merchandise (t-shirts & mugs), shipping of the comic and original artwork, taxes, Kickstarter fees and credit card fees.
My goal is to create a fully inked and coloured page a week. 23 pages (22 interior pages, plus the cover), then with lettering and interior design makes it around 24 weeks, so I’m giving a time estimate of 6 months after the campaign ends to create the artwork for the third issue. Some extra time has been added to some Rewards to allow for printing, packaging and creation of original artwork.
After the successful Kickstarters for Echoes 1 & 2, the third issue is currently being scripted. I have a printer lined up and a good estimate for the time it will take to create the third issue. Fees and taxes have been accounted for in the budget. I may add more Reward Tiers or Stretch Goals during the campaign, as long as the budget and commitments are still manageable. There might be unexpected delays when printing and shipping Echoes 3. If there are any unexpected delays in any part of the production of Echoes 3, I’ll be sure to let you know in the Updates section. My aim is to keep everyone informed about how “Echoes from the Drift” 3 is progressing throughout its production.
