Currently in the marketplace there are few options for cool, everyday wearable, t-shirt subscription services. Wohven.com is a good option, with great designs. Other options like cratejoy and loot tees only offer pop culture themed t-shirts.
I feel that there is room in the marketplace for another website. To differentiate, I thought it would be cool to create an artist community based around the designs. Part of the monthly subscription would include a voting option for the next design (may actually need to be several months ahead based on scheduling and printing demands). The successful design artist will receive a monetary award based on a percentage of sales for the month their design is featured.
I am a father of 4 boys. I subscribed to Wohven.com a few years ago. My boys also liked the shirts and asked if they could also get a subscription. The only problem was that we all would end up with the same shirts. Upon searching for other options I noticed that there were not a lot of options.
Early backers will receive reduced monthly subscription fees and early input into the initial designs which, in turn, help create the feel and direction this service takes.
The biggest challenge would be the start up expenses. This model’s success is based on volume. In order to keep costs reasonable we need to have a minimum number of subscribers.
