Tabletop RPG gaming saved my life during a time when I was really struggling. The act of a scheduled activity where I would go have fun with friends on a regular basis helped me overcome my depression. It helped me build stronger connections with friends, create a sense of community, and, as cheesy as it sounds, gave me somewhere to belong. As a way to contribute back to the fandom creatively, I started Dispel Dice.
Since then, it’s grown more than I could have possibly imagined in a short period of time. I want to share Dispel Dice with the world, and to do that, I need to accelerate production so it can be sustainable long-term.
Dispel Dice stands in solidarity with Kickstarter United.

Every artisan set is hand poured, polished, and painted, so there may be slight imperfections or differences of color and material suspension in the dice. No part of this process is automated. Please understand that due to the nature of how they’re crafted, it is impossible to ensure they’re absolutely perfect or identical because each one is one of a kind.
I am the sole full-time staff member of Dispel Dice at the moment, but I did not do this alone. I have an amazing support network that came together to help me bring this project to life. This absolutely would not be possible without their combined experience and contributions.
Everyone on this list (along with some people who asked to be left off of it) has touched my life in so many ways — from a friend who crowdfunded and organized a meal delivery service to feed me while I worked during the final stretch of this project, to the long hours my father and I spent learning every nook and cranny of the manufacturing process together to ensure a quality product. He’s been in manufacturing and quality control for over 25 years, so it’s been a real joy to learn from him first hand. I can’t thank my father and my mother enough for their support during this adventure!
There are those at the resin & plastics shops — Kyle, Ricky, Glenn, Sasha, Charlie — who contributed their time towards educating me about resin casting in the first place. There’s Chris and Jessie Do, who have inspired and mentored me. They planted the seeds that gave me the confidence I needed to start this business.
I can’t leave out my friends Katy and Trevor, who packed orders tirelessly while I worked. And don’t even get me started on Susan. She encouraged me for months to start making dice, and went above and beyond by taking time out of her busy schedule to answer emails and questions while I was setting everything up for the launch. There’s also my DM, who created awe-inspiring content, as well as my friend Derek, who set up my first game. He persisted in inviting me to get out of my comfort zone and try something new, and it changed my life.
The list could go on forever. Each of the people I’ve named has helped me during this long and winding journey, but there are so many more who have left kind comments, sent supportive messages, or encouraged me along the way.
This section is for you.
It’s not enough, but I just want to take a moment to thank everyone that contributed, listened, gave advice or moral support. Although I’m happy with what I’ve done up to this point, I can’t take all the credit for the incredible work that would have been impossible without the contributions of my family and friends; I’m so proud of them and everything they’ve accomplished. Thank you all for being part of this project!
We stand in solidarity with those at Kickstarter United, and support voluntary union recognition. Thank you for your hard work, because this platform for creators and those that support them, would not exist without you and your contributions.
UPDATE: Day 1 Pledges Bonuses have now ended! Pledges can still qualify for regular bonus rewards. This section has been moved here for archival/reference purposes only. Thank you!

Despite what you may read about the dice on the internet, they are in fact, inedible.
The edges on these dice are sharp — especially the D4. These dice are not meant for children or to be ingested. Please keep them away from pets, children, feet and mouths. Failure to do so could result in injury or death.
Please.
I make multiple sets of dice almost every single day, so I’ve personally encountered many of the issues that will crop up during the manufacturing process. You can see all of my experiments over the past several months on my Twitter or Instagram pages. I have purposefully selected these designs for their stability, so you can be sure that I’ve done my research.
I’ve personally taught the crafters at my facilities how to pour the sets properly, step by step, so everyone involved is using the same process and materials that I’ve been using in my one-person operation since Dispel Dice’s inception. In addition to that, if this project funds, I will be pouring alongside them so that we can continue to make this process more efficient.
We’ve spent months speaking and training our two facilities to ensure that they’re able to produce a quality product. We will be sourcing a third as well. As with any production or manufacturing process, there may be unforeseen risks or complications, but we’ve done our best due diligence to get ahead of all of them.
In the interest of transparency, here’s where we are:
We’re able to produce sharp edges stably and efficiently. The dice are beautiful (just look!). The suspension is evenly dispersed. They’re able to match my sample colors almost perfectly every time, though there may be very slight variances between batches.
Due to the fact that they are handmade, there may be small flaws or quirks on the dice or in the number wells. Examples include a tiny hole in some of the number wells (which is painted over), and slight bubbling of the paint in the numbers — specifically the smaller ones. The painting isn’t always perfect on everything, but I will be working closely with the facilities to improve the quality. Nevertheless, I ask for your understanding that there may be a slight difference in the metallic sheen and thickness of the paint on the final products.
Last, but not least, I want to point out that I have already placed batch orders from the facilities and tested their ability to produce quality sets in moderate quantities ahead of this launch. We’ve been working with them to develop this process for 8 months now. Instead of launching as early as possible, I really wanted to iron out as many kinks as I could ahead of time. Now, we’re finally ready!
