ZINNIA’s new album has arrived.
With blistering synth and driving beats, it is equal parts intimate and fierce. We’ve come here to share this new chapter of ZINNIA and to offer the album in its many formats to those wishing to support our art.
ZINNIA’s debut album Sensations in Two Dot focuses on moments of doubt – creative, societal, and personal – exploring what it means to hold compassion through the multifaceted grey areas of life. Whether in the isolated town of Two Dot, Montana (population 143) or the buzzing streets of Toronto (population 2.6 million), these nine songs probe the complex, unsettling similarities found in the human experience: the hauntings of unrelenting dreams, tensions and tender triumphs in relationships, systems of abuse threaded through communities, and the search for compassion and visibility in everyday interactions.
Over the past eight months, we’ve released four singles: Lupins, Bullets, Black Bark Yellow Leaves, and most recently Requiem. Critics have been overwhelmingly kind: https://thisiszinnia.com/press. We toured across the USA and Canada playing festivals and shows which culminated in a wild showcase at POP Montreal, opening for the legendary Shonen Knife.
On November 18, 2019 the full album will be presented for the first time in a visually-led listening party: a unique performance at Toronto’s Array Space where nine choreographer-dancers will interpret each of the album’s nine songs.

Luckily, the full album is already mastered and ready to print. We’ve collaborated with artists, photographers and designers who really inspire us to bring you the album in its most beautiful form. We’ve poured our own funds into the making of this art and though we’re proud we brought it so far, we need help to go the extra mile.
There are limits to what an independent band can do in today’s music industry. The cost of printing vinyl and getting the music out to the world is prohibitive.
With the added investment of these funds, we’ll be able to print this album in many formats (CD and vinyl), get it to the people who want it (you?) and bring it to cities and towns across North America (maybe even Europe.)
We wholeheartedly believe in this album and want it to travel the distance.
