Over the years, Sherlock Holmes has encountered dozens upon dozens of mysteries. And as the greatest detective of all time, he has yet to fail at solving any of them.
But throughout the many iterations of the legendary sleuth, he has never confronted the greatest mystery of them all. The mystery of parenthood.
I initially created Alistair and Eleanor, or the Holmes Children, after experiencing an almost routine frustration with my own children night after night right around dinnertime. No matter how hard I tried, they refused to eat my carefully considered cuisine for a plethora of mundane reasons.
And so the first installment of the proposed Holmes Children book series was born. Sherlock Holmes & The Dinnertime Mystery is part detective thriller and part meditative approach to parenting. It’s also a book that both children and parents will relate with. Our titular hero tries to figure out his children’s culinary preferences while encountering some hijinks along the way.
I’d love your support in making this book into a reality. It’s my hope to create a quality hardcover book with the cover itself channeling the vintage leather bound aesthetic employed by the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle books of yore. But the interior itself is the real incentive: the vibrant and whimsical artwork drawn by the incredibly talented Michael Weinreb feels timeless and frame-worthy.
The story itself introduces two new characters who just so happen to be Sherlock’s children, of which I understand has no precedent in the Holmes Universe canon. Nevertheless, I have a great reverence for the character, have devoted a few decades into his fascinating lore and feel confident that this book will resonate with purists and dabblers alike.
Now’s the part in which you review our Kickstarter campaign offerings, and then immediately, without hesitation, join us in introducing the next generation of young thinkers to the greatest detective of all time. Of course, I’m super appreciative for your support and look forward to getting this labor of love into your hands. Thank you.
I hope to get this book out by early 2020. Please note February is the goal but if there are any changes, I will reach out to you all.
