Prem Uppaluru brings 25 years of experience in the telecommunications and networking industry to the Transera board as well as his keen entrepreneurial instincts.
Prior to cofounding Transera, Prem was executive vice president, Voice Portal Solutions at Genesys, where he was responsible for strategic direction and development of the company’s Voice Platform and Managed Service solutions.
As a result of his efforts, the Genesys Voice Portal products were awarded the top ranking in worldwide market leadership from a leading analyst firm for completeness of business vision and ability to deliver compelling value to the marketplace. He has also held executive leadership roles at Telera, VOIS Corporation, Novell, and Fluent and Samsung Software America.
Prem holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of Texas at Austin. He received his masters and undergraduate degrees in electrical engineering from IIT Bombay.
With more than 14 years of CFO experience, Mike Shannahan brings extensive financial, operational, and business management experience to Transera.
Prior to joining Transera, Mike held CFO positions at Kana Software, Medsphere Systems, Choridant Software, Sanctum, MySimon, NetObjects, and Broderbund. Along with his solid track record of success as a CFO, Mike has held board, partner, and advisory roles at both publicly and privately held companies.
Mike holds a bachelors degree in accounting from Rockhurst University, where he graduated cum laude.
Gaya Vukkadala brings over 25 years of technology experience to Transera.
Prior to joining Transera, Gaya was director of engineering at Genesys Telecommunications, responsible for the Genesys Voice Platform product line. Gaya joined Genesys as part of its acquisition of Telera in 2002.
At Telera, Gaya was instrumental in developing a web and standards-based interactive voice response platform delivered as both a SaaS offering and as an enterprise product. Prior to Telera, Gaya held numerous engineering leadership and architect positions at NET, Novell, and Xerox.
Gaya holds a masters degree in computer engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a bachelors degree in electrical engineering from BITS (India).
Brad Mack has over 25 years of sales leadership with respected companies, including Octel, ROLM/IBM, and Xerox.
Prior to joining Transera, Brad ran partner development and direct sales at Contact Solutions, a provider of on-demand call automation solutions.
His background includes 11 years running Americas Sales for Intervoice, the industry-leading manufacturer of self-service platforms. His approach includes a customer-centric focus on account development and management while building long-term relationships with customers.
Brad holds a BA and MA in English from Fordham University in New York City.
Rich is an accomplished senior marketing leader with over 20 years of developing and implementing innovative marketing solutions that strategically position technology organizations for sustainable success.
For the past 10 years, Rich as specialized in Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Big Data products. Prior to joining Transera, Rich was vice president of marketing for Karmasphere, a leading Big Data Analytics company offering SQL access to Apache Hadoop.
Before that, Rich was vice president of the Open Source Strategy Group for Actuate, where he successfully spearheaded efforts to redefine the Business Intelligence (BI) companys go-to-market strategy from a proprietary enterprise software company to the leading open source BI company.
Prior to Actuate, he held senior executive marketing positions at Sendmail, Apple, and NeXT software. Rich has a BS degree in Public Affairs from Indiana University.
Dan is responsible for all sales and business development activities for the enterprise and mid-markets for Five9.
He has a strong track-record and over 20 years of experience building successful sales organizations for contact center and other voice applications companies.
Prior to Five 9, Dan was SVP of Sales at Transera Communications, an on-demand hosted contact center solution provider, where he and his team focused on enterprise and outsourcer sales. Before that, Dan ran world-wide sales for IP Unity, provider of carrier-hosted Unified Communications (UC) and conferencing solutions. Dan built and managed a world-wide sales team for direct and channels while growing the business 10-fold during his 4 years with the Company.
Dan also held sales management positions at Cisco and GeoTel (prior to its acquisition by Cisco) focusing on their contact center applications and other VoIP solutions.
With over a decade in senior product leadership roles, Arnab has responsibility for the Companys product management, product marketing, program management, and strategic alliances functions.
Prior to joining Transera, Arnab held senior product marketing positions at Alcatel (Genesys Telecommunications business unit), where he led the team responsible for the definition and positioning of Genesys core communications platform offerings. In addition, Arnab spearheaded the launch of the Genesys Voice Platform and was instrumental in making the product the leading, next-generation, voice self-service platform globally.
Arnab has also held marketing and business development roles at Telera and worked both as a venture capital investor at The Beacon Group (now part of JP Morgan Chase & Co.) and investment banker at Merrill Lynch.
Arnab holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mukesh Sundaram brings more than 30 years of software development, systems engineering and management experience to Transera as well as his talent for technology innovation in communications and networking.
Mukesh has successfully contributed to the development of several next-generation standards in voice communications, network management protocols, managed services architectures, and web technologies.
Prior to co-founding Transera, he cofounded Telera, and served as CTO and vice president of engineering at Telera/Genesys, guiding the development of the award winning Genesys Voice Portal product. He has also held management roles at VOIS Corporation, Novell, Excelan and Ungermann-Bass.
Mukesh holds a masters degree in computer science from the University of Tennessee, with doctoral studies at the University of Illinois. He received his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from IIT Madras.
Jim Swartz has been active in venture capital for four decades. Experienced in the operating needs of young companies, he particularly enjoys working with start-up teams that are defining new industries. He has served as a Director for over fifty successful companies and has been closely involved as lead investor with the emergence of numerous industry pioneering firms including Avici Systems, BroadBand Technologies, FastForward/Inktomi, FVC.com, Illustra/Informix, Medical Care America, Netopia/Motorola, PictureTel, Polycom, Remedy Corporation, Riverbed Technology and Ungermann-Bass.
Current private company directorships include Gen3 Partners, Ingenuity Systems, MetraTech, RGB Networks and Transera Communications. In addition, Jim works with the Accel Europe team as a founder/mentor of Accel’s European business.
Ronald Weissman has more than 25 years of technology management experience and has worked with more than 40 venture-backed companies. He has also served on 20 technology company boards.
As an investor and advisor, Ronalds primary focus is on software, particularly analytic applications and infrastructure. Currently, he manages investments in Apaxs venture portfolio, where he is on the board of Centerbeam, Composite Software, and Silicon Optix.
He is also a board observer for Nanomix and Peregrine Semiconductor. In addition to current Apax directorships, Ronald has served as an advisor, observer, or director for many Apax portfolio companies and as acting VP of marketing for several Apax companies, including Composite and BlueArc.
Sanjay is a Managing Director at Storm Ventures.
Prior to founding Storm Ventures in October 2000, Sanjay Subhedar was at E-TEK Dynamics, Inc. (fiber optic component manufacturer) since December 1997, serving most recently as its Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer. Sanjay played a key role in E-TEK’s growth from 400 employees to over 5000 employees in less than three years, E-TEK’s Initial Public Offering in 1998 as well as E-TEK’s merger with JDS Uniphase in July 2000.
Prior to ETEK Sanjay was the Chief Financial Officer for StrataCom, Inc. from its inception in January 1986 until its merger with Cisco Systems in July 1996.
Following StrataCom’s merger with Cisco Systems, in July 1996 he served as Vice President of Cisco’s WAN business unit until October 1997.
Sanjay also serves on the Board of Trustees of Palo Alto Medical Foundation, Board of Directors of The Indiana University Foundation and the Governing Board of the Indian School of Business.
Andre M. Boisvert brings to Transera a deep and rich background in enterprise software, where he has over 30 years of experience.
Andre currently serves as chairman of Palamida Corporation, the leader in software composition analysis for intellectual property and security risk management. Additionally, he is vice-chairman of River Logic Inc., a leader in advanced and predictive analytics, and vice-chairman of Clario Analytics Inc., a cloud-based analytics solution aimed at companies using multiple channels to market their products and services.
He recently was appointed director at Webtrends, which focuses on unified mobile, social, and web analytics and engagement, and director at Emailvision, an email marketing software provider. Previously, Andre co-founded Pentaho Corporation in 2004, the worlds most popular commercial open source business intelligence platform.
