Marco is Upstreams CEO and the companys co-founder. Marco sets Upstreams strategic direction and spearheads business development as it continues its expansion into new geographical and product areas and has been Chairman of the Board since 2002. As an experienced marketing strategist at leading advertising agencies Grey Advertising, McCann-Ericsson and DDB in London, Marco developed global and Pan-European communications strategies for brands such as Nestl, Coca-Cola, Sony and SmithKline Beecham. Marco is a mentor for Endeavor and Openfund, Vice President of the board of HAMAC and an angel investor and board advisor in Workable HR.
Marco holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and International Studies from Warwick University and a Masters of Philosophy in European Studies from Oxford University.
David is Upstreams Chief Technology Officer responsible for all the technical aspects of its global mobile marketing delivery platform. Prior to joining Upstream, he was Vice President of Delivery for Victrio, where he was responsible for operations and professional services for this vendor of fraud detection solutions based on data analytics. Prior to that, as Vice President at Nuance, he managed the software development of mobile applications used by wireless handset manufacturers worldwide. David has a long career in senior technical positions in early stage companies that provided infrastructure, applications and services to mobile carriers. He holds a Bachelor from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Masters in Business Administration from Boston University.
Panos is Chief Financial Offer at Upstream. Panos oversees the companys finance, legal and HR department and is responsible for financial planning and co-ordination of investor relations for the business. Before working with Upstream, Panos was Business Planning and Intelligence Manager at Dell where he played a key role in the companys penetration of the corporate market. Panos has also worked in Washington D.C. as a Consultant at LECG Inc. and as an Associate at Deloitte & Touche L.L.P. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Public Policy Management from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Science in Finance and Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
Vu is Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Upstream. Vus key responsibilities include global business development and accelerating the adoption of Upstreams mobile marketing technology platform by brands and operators. Prior to Upstream, Vu had been head of the Vodafone global business unit at Research in Motion, head of new business development for Sony Ericsson, and executive vice president and head of global sales at Telmap, the market leader in EMEA for white-labeled location-based solutions and services for mobile operators. His key industry successes include winning the first 3G mobile network contract in North America for Ericsson and building two new business areas (Global Operators and Enterprise) for Sony Ericsson. Vu holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science as well as a Masters in Business Administration in International Business and Finance from McGill University, Canada.
Nikos is an entrepreneur and private investor with a proven track record in product marketing and international business development. He is the CEO of Workable, a technology startup he co-founded that aims to re-invent hiring for enterprises. Previously, in the role of VP Business Development at Upstream, he played a key role in the company’s growth from startup into one of the worlds top marketing technology companies, where he was actively involved in enterprise sales across 40 countries in 4 continents.
Guy is Senior Vice President of Innovation at Upstream. Guy oversees the incubation and implementation of the innovative mobile marketing campaigns that the company develops for its mobile operator and brand clients. Guys creativity has enabled him to follow a diverse career path, which has seen him write and star in his own TV comedy series and host his own radio show. He has also held significant roles in the telecommunications industry, including marketing manager for Wanadoo (France Telecom) in Paris, which eventually became Orange. Guy holds a Masters in Social Psychology from the Sorbonne in Paris.
Assaf is Senior Vice President of Product Management at Upstream. Assaf is responsible for driving the development of Upstreams next-generation mobile marketing solutions and identifying new markets for expansion. Prior to joining Upstream, Assaf worked for speech and imaging solutions supplier Nuance Communications as a senior director of product strategy where he was responsible for developing on-demand and mobile solutions. Assaf joined Nuance from BeVocal, following its acquisition in 2007, where he led product management and developed innovative multi-channel mobile strategies and solutions. Assaf holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco and he has a Masters in Social Psychology from the Sorbonne in Paris.
Henrik holds an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University and an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Twente. He is also a Six Sigma Academy & Company certified Six Sigma & Lean Black Belt. He started his career in telecommunications with Alcatel-Lucent and Telefonica. With Shell, Henrik worked predominantly in Upstream, both in operational and business development roles. Prior to joining Shell Technology Ventures, Henrik worked as an Enterprise Supplier Manager on the development of strategic sourcing strategies and negotiating long-term framework agreements. He managed the end-to-end relationships with various Fortune 100 companies supplying Shell, driving performance and innovation.
From his role as Board Director, Alex oversees the corporate development of Upstream. His current operational role is CEO of Persado, a pioneer in marketing persuasion technology which he founded. He co-founded Upstream in 2001 and served as the companys CEO between 2004 and 2012. During his tenure, the company grew to become a global leader in mobile marketing, with mobile operator clients in more than 40 countries. Alex was responsible for setting Upstreams strategic direction and spearheading its international sales expansion and product innovation. Prior to founding Upstream, Alex worked as a management consultant at OC&C/McKenna Group, based out of Boston. He is the first angel investor for Lulu, where he is also a board member, and serves on the board of advisors of Seyyer and Workable HR.
Alex holds a BS in Applied Mathematics from Columbia University, and a Masters of Engineering in Operations Research from Cornell University.

Ethan is responsible for developing new business opportunities in digital marketing channels across multiple vertical markets. Prior to joining Upstream, Ethan was the CEO and founder of Zvents, a local search engine, until its acquisition by Ebay. He sits on the board of Hypertable Inc., a big data open source technology platform company, and served as a board director for Crowd Factory, a leader in social marketing, until its acquisition by Marketo. Ethan previously was COO of eBusinessMedia, the digital arm of London-based United Business Media; a partner at NetService Ventures; a principal strategy consultant at the Regis McKenna Group; and a systems engineer at EDS. His doctoral studies as an NSF fellow were at U.C. Berkeley, and he holds a BA from The Ohio State University.

Grigoris is General Manager at Upstream. Grigoris manages the day-to-day operation of the business across all territories and departments. He has been with the company since 2006 and has held a number of positions in Business Development and Account Management initially for brands and media clients and subsequently focusing on mobile operators. Before becoming General Manager he was Upstreams VP of Commercial Operations. He joined Upstream from strategy consultancy Mars & Co, London, UK where he advised telecommunications and financial services clients on projects ranging from pricing optimization to organizational change management. Before that he worked as a senior consultant at the European Tech Labs of Accenture, Sophia Antipolis, France where he was part of a small team of professionals responsible for strategic research and analysis. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Masters of Philosophy in Electronic Engineering both from UMIST, Manchester, UK.
