Scott Southron is the CFO of SpinMedia and brings a unique blend of experience leading both public and private companies as a chief financial officer and working on the banking side as a partner in investment banking. He has more than 25 years of experience working for industry leaders including The Walt Disney Company, eSolar (a GE Company), MCI/Worldcom, Price Waterhouse, Lyon Communities, and Roth Capital Partners. His experience includes in-depth expertise across corporate finance, accounting and reporting, treasury and operational functions including significant international knowledge and experience working in Europe.
Coming to the company with over 15 years experience in engineering and operations, Sunny Walia serves as SpinMedias Chief Technology Officer.
Previously he served as Vice President of Engineering and Operations at Demand Media. In addition, he co-founded answerbag.com (which is now owned by Demand Media) and is the President and Editor of totalplaystation.com, one of the longest running PlayStation fan sites online.
Sunny holds a degree in Computer Science from California State University East Bay.
Alan Citron is an adviser on business and editorial strategies at [Buzznet](/company/buzznet). He came to Buzznet from TMZ in August 2008.
Citron served as GM at TMZ and had been there since late 2005. Prior to TMZ he helped found Movielink and JV MusicNet, and was the founding president of Ticketmaster Online and chairman of Ticketmaster Multimedia.
Mike Porath, Executive Vice President, Programming. Mike oversees the companys 40 digital properties that reach an audience of more than 100 million people each month. He has held a variety of writing, editing, producing and executive roles at ABC News, NBC News, The New York Times and AOL.
Prior to joining SpinMedia, Mike was Editor-in-Chief of AOL News, where he built a team of more than 100 journalists and grew the audience and engagement on AOL News web sites to 40 million unique visitors and more than 1 billion page views. He got his start on the web at ABC News, where he was the networks first overseas digital reporter. His multimedia stories on the war in Kosovo won the Society of Professional Journalists top honor. Mike is a graduate of the College of William and Mary.
Max Engel is currently the VP of Product for SpinMedia, the worlds largest collective of pop culture and music digital brands, which includes SPIN, Vibe, Celebuzz, Buzznet, The Frisky, Idolator, and more. In this role, Max leads the team of product managers and UI/UX designers responsible for all music and celebrity sites that collectively reach 40MM unique visitors a month. He also oversees the development and architecture of new content management publishing platform to power all sites in their portfolio. In addition, he manages a cross-functional Labs team that incubates new properties.
Before taking this position, he was the Director of Music Product for SPIN Magazine, where he was responsible for property’s digital initiatives, including the site, apps, mobile, and more.
Prior to that, Max was the Senior Product Manager for the Digital Entertainment and Games team at BBC Worldwide.
Louisa Wee is responsible for strategy, business intelligence and audience development and retention. She brings over 15 years of experience in BI, strategy, and consumer Internet marketing to SpinMedia. Most recently, she worked at eHarmony, where she was responsible for customer acquisition and retention, pricing and revenue generation in the US and Canada, other key aspects of the customer experience and the P&L owner for Affinity sites. Wee has also held key positions at McKinsey & Company, Goldman Sachs, Deloitte, & PwC. Wee holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and Master of Accounting from University of Southern California.
Chris George is the SVP of Integrated Marketing and Sales at [BuzzMedia](/company/buzz-media). He previously worked at [MySpace](/company/myspace) as the VP of Integrated Marketing.
A web solutions and marketing expert, George spent close to four years at MySpace culminating to VP, Integrated Marketing. While there, he developed the companys monetization strategy and was instrumental in launching a full suite of advertising products.

Mike Wann is the Chief Revenue Officer of SpinMedia overseeing Corporate Development, Advertising Operations, Advertising Technology, Yield Management, and Integrated Marketing Solutions. For more than a decade, Wann has forged a proven track record of facilitating large-scale business development initiatives, focused on reaching new market segments and successfully growing new products. Wann, who has a deep knowledge and personal passion for technology, most recently oversaw strategic partnerships and new revenue opportunities as EVP of Business Development at Demand Media. He spearheaded the development of the organization’s monetization infrastructure for all of its owned and operated properties, as well as site level monetization and product partnerships. Wann previously served business development roles for Amazon.com and MSNBC.com, overseeing content partnerships, new revenue products and distribution partnerships.

In addition to his key role at MTV Networks, where he spent more than 12 years, culminating in his promotion to Executive Vice President, Doug has more than 20 years of advertising sales experience. Before SpinMedia, Doug ran a digital advisory firm servicing clients such as IAC, Firebrand, SheSpeaks and Virgin Mobile. Prior to the digital advisory firm, Doug was Chief Revenue Officer at Heavy.com.
Anthony Batt has turned generating online buzz into a science. As the founder and chief creative officer of the Web-publishing juggernaut Buzzmedia, he turned culture blogs like Idolator and Stereogum into must-reads for todays influencers. He was CEO until 2008 and CCO until 2010. He then joined Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg at their founding company Katalyst as President and Head of Digital where he consults for heavyweight brands such as Virgin Media, Intel, and GE on how to design their digital presence and the most effective ways to expand their reach online.
Previously, he was co-founder of Metapa (now Greenplum) a technology company specializing in data warehousing, which sold in July 2010 for $350 million.
