Imagination Technologies creates and licences semiconductor System-on-Chip Intellectual Property (SoC IP). The company also devotes resources to the development and manufacturing of DAB digital radios.
Imagination has a highly skilled workforce of over 1,200 people, of which around 80% are qualified engineers. Our headquarters are in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire.

After attaining his PhD, Hossein was a research fellow at the University of Birmingham. Prior to joining Imagination Technologies in February 1992, he was with STMicroelectronics and Inmos for eight years, where he set up and managed the DSP and digital video developments. Ultimately he became responsible for the system divisions, including research and development, manufacturing and marketing.
Hossein joined Imagination Technologies in 1992 as CTO, joined the Board in 1995, and became CEO in 1998. He was knighted in the 2013 New Years Honours List for services to technology and innovation.
John joined Imagination Technologies (then VideoLogic) in 1987 and worked on a range of video and graphics products before managing the driver development team.
He then joined a technology consultancy, before returning in 1997. John became COO in 2005.

David has an established track record of success in both chip and IP sales and has held management positions at Hitachi and at Parthus.
He joined Imagination in 2002 to run business development for the company’s technology groups. David has been formative in many of our most significant licensing deals
Tony joined Imagination Technologies in 2006, and is responsible for all Marketing, OEM relationships and ecosystems. He has extensive experience in product and segment marketing including many blue chip corporate relationships.
Prior to Imagination, Tony held senior engineering and marketing positions with Panasonic, Hitachi (now Renesas), LSI Logic and INMOS.
Jim studied the Electrical and Information Sciences Tripos at Cambridge. He designed the multi-threaded Meta processor, developed Imagination’s chip layout capability and led the hardware team that created the integrated digital radio processors used by Pure.
Jim is EVP of the Meta product line.
Mark, along with Martin Ashton, was responsible for designing the first generation of PowerVR graphics products.
He has a masters in microelectronics and is a chartered engineer. Mark now runs IMGworks
Martin has over 20 years experience in the DSP industry and was project director of Ensigma prior to its acquisition by Imagination in 2000.
Martin managed Ensigma’s DAB and Mobile TV business before becoming EVP of the Ensigma product line in 2005.
Geoff was, until April 1994, Executive Chairman of Digital Equipment Co. Limited, where he served for 29 years. While at Digital, he worked both in the US and Continental Europe.
He joined the Imagination Technologies board in 1994 becoming Chairman in 1996. He is Non-Executive Chairman of Sarantel Group Plc and is also a Non-Executive Director of a number of private companies.
David worked for most of his career in the securities industry. In 2002 he left UBS, where, for more than ten years he had worked in Corporate Finance as adviser to a wide range of companies. David now works mainly as a consultant and his Non-Executive Directorships include Anite plc, Ffastfill plc and Hargreave Hale AIM VCT 2 plc.
He joined the board of Imagination Technologies as a Non-Executive Director in September 2000 and is a member of the Remuneration Committee.
Since 2010 Andrew has held the position of President, Energy at Rolls Royce. He joined Rolls-Royce as an undergraduate trainee in 1982 and progressed to Managing Director, Control Systems Operating Unit in 2001.
He was appointed as President, Texas Aero Engines Services Limited (TAESL) in 2005, and two years later was appointed Chief Executive Officer, Rolls Royce Fuel Cell Systems, before moving into the Energy Business in 2009 as Chief Operating Officer.
