Scott Smith serves as the Vice President of Sales responsible for Worldwide Sales, Business Development and Channel activities. Smith joins CrownPeak with more than 25 years experience in technology sales, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Field Operations at Ooyala. As Senior Vice President of Field Operations at Ooyala where the company grew its SaaS revenue over 200% in last 12 months expanding into major enterprise companies like News Corp, Bloomberg, REI, Telegraph Media, and Virgin Media. Smith has served as an executive in a number of venture backed technology companies such as Ooyala, MarketLive, Peopleclick and Convergent Communications and Fortune 500 companies like PeopleSoft and Oracle. Smiths leadership added rapid growth to these companies, and in some cases resulting in successful fund raising, IPOs and acquisitions.
Smith holds a BA in History from Wheaton College, IL and MBA from Northwestern University KGSM.
Adrian Newby has over 25 years of practical experience delivering advanced technology-enabled business solutions in both the US and European markets. As CIO, Adrian is responsible for all aspects of the CrownPeak production including IT operations, security, infrastructure management and application service delivery.
Immediately prior to joining CrownPeak, Adrian was instrumental in designing and delivering technology platforms supporting the re-engineering of the national US residential collateral valuation industry.
Diane brings over twenty years of senior financial management experience to small, venture capital-backed technology firms helping them grow from emerging organizations to successful companies by focusing on strategy formulation and institution of effective management and operating controls.
Most recently Diane was Chief Financial Officer at LoanPerformance where over 13 years she played a critical in the companys growth from small and unprofitable, to the industry leader in mortgage database and credit analytics, and its successful sale to First American.
Prior to LoanPerformance, she held senior positions at Omega Performance Consulting, a bank training and consulting firm, the Rosenberg Real Estate Equity Funds, a real estate investment firm, and KPMG. Diane holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo.
As CTO, Carl is responsible for the strategic direction and management of all technology development for CrownPeak. Carl’s responsibilities include management of the engineering and software Q/A team, planning and executing new product development and serving as a thought leader for CrownPeak solutions. Previous to CrownPeak, Carl was a Partner at USWeb/CKS, where he led technical services for Global 3000 companies including Times Mirror, Paramount Pictures, CCH, Amgen, and NBC.com. Carl was also the senior programmer analyst at the University of Southern California Center for Scholarly Technology, where he helped establish some of the first ever online library initiatives. While at USC, he also developed ground-breaking Web systems including the Mercury Project, the USC TommyCam, and the Robotic Telegarden, which enabled users to manipulate the real world via a Web interface.
J. Patrick Desbrow is the Vice President of Engineering. He leads a team of software developers, project managers, database administrators, and quality assurance engineers in the creation of commercial software products for the firm.
Prior to joining CrownPeak, Mr. Desbrow was the senior director of the technology at J.D. Power and Associates and the vice president of technology for The One2One Group, where he designed and developed high performing technology groups for each organization. This included the development of a client server web-based campaign management, lead generation, and performance reporting tool using ASP, XML, C#, and stored procedures. He also managed the loading and processing of more than 260 million records of individual credit, demographic, and customer data on daily, weekly, and monthly bases.
Previously, Mr.
Anthony Lee is a General Partner of Altos Ventures, where he focuses on software and digital media investments. Anthony currently serves as a director of BrightEdge, Demandbase, Hooked Media Group, Kontagent, MyERP, Netbase Solutions, Roblox, and Xignite. He was also a director of GuardianEdge, which was acquired in 2010 by Symantec (SYMC).
Before joining Altos Ventures, Anthony led marketing efforts for three start-up companies including Evolve Software (Nasdaq:EVLV, later acquired by Oracle). Anthony began his career as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company and has published a national magazine.
Anthony serves as Chairman of TechSoup Global, the world’s largest non-profit distributor of computer software and hardware. He co-founded and co-chairs the C100, a network of top Canadian technology leaders dedicated to supporting Canadian entrepreneurs.
Director of Marketing Communications at CrownPeak
An expert in computer security and networking, Sean is charged with supervising all of CrownPeak’s IT systems and security staff, and has responsibility for all application and network monitoring. Prior to joining CrownPeak, Sean managed high-availability, highly secure hosting and database operations for clients such as Paramount Pictures, Virgin Records, Kaiser Permanente, Wyle Electronics and Amgen. Sean also worked for Activision and Disney Interactive, where he planned and rolled out the first Activision web presence including its infrastructure, and setup the Activision presence on MSN for support of products.
Sean also served in the US Air Force, is a Gulf War veteran, and holds Secret and PRP clearances.
As the Vice President of Client Services, Greg is responsible for the continued success and satisfaction of CrownPeak’s clients and partners. With more than 20 years experience focused on building organizations designed to exceed client expectations, Greg brings to CrownPeak his dedication to making sure clients succeed. He was most recently Director of Consulting Services at Acquity Group, a leader in delivering multi-channel commerce and digital marketing solutions. Prior to Acquity Group, Greg held senior client delivery positions at Xpedior, Framework and Accenture, which all deliver rapid time-to-value for their clients in the digital space.
Greg holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Troy Fukumoto is the Managing Director of Private Equity and Venture Capital within AllianceBernsteins Alternative Investment Management Group. The group manages over $8 billion of private equity and hedge fund investments. Troy manages partnership investments in buyout, growth equity, distressed, venture capital, secondaries, direct investments and co-investments.
With over 20 years of investment and operating experience, Troy has served as a board director or observer for over 20 companies and has served as an advisory committee member for 15 private equity partnerships. He has managed over 50 direct investments and dozens of private equity partnership investments.
Troy has been responsible for investments in a number of leading technology, digital media, life science, and cleantech companies. Earlier, he led teams building mission critical satellites.
