President & CEO at Oclaro
John Zyskind most recently led the development of high capacity, advanced modulation format transponders for DWDM optical networks at Mintera and, following Minteras acquisition at Oclaro where he served as Director of System Engineering. He also has experience leading the development of optical communications products at Sycamore Networks, Optovia and JDSU.
He began his career in the communications industry at Bell Laboratories where his path-breaking work on optical amplifiers and DWDM systems was reported in over 200 refereed publications as well as book chapters and invited talks. He is co-editor of Optically Amplified WDM Networks published in 2011 by Elsevier.
Dr. Zyskind received a Ph.D. in physics from the California Institute of Technology.
