Social Tree Media was founded in 2011 by Charles Baratta with the mission to provide a social deals platform that helps local small businesses expand while also benefitting good causes within the local community. Social Tree Media Owner and Founder, Charles Baratta, has
had an intriguing journey from his early days on the career
track to everything he has achieved thus far. Skipping college
in order to jump right into the job market, Baratta went
straight from high school to Wall Street where he became a
stock broker. Soon, he was running his own firm and proving
his value to high net worth clients and business associates.
A self-starter through and through, Charles taught himself the
ropes of marketing in order to grow his first business which
led him to create Merchant Service Group, Inc. in 1999 and
later, Social Tree Media. MSG focused on supporting and facilitating
the growth of over six thousand small to mid-sized
merchants throughout the US.
His latest venture, founded just over two years ago, has grown
exponentially thanks in large part to the tireless dedication
of its owner. He resides in
Huntington with his wife and their three children.
Pete is a seasoned finance executive with a passion for entrepreneurship and technology. With over fifteen years of experience, he has started and led two companies and served in
CFO, COO, and product management roles with five startups and small businesses.
Pete’s goal is to help companies rapidly advance from the pre-revenue idea stage to proven business model and on to become growing double-digit million revenue businesses. In addition to the classic CFO functions in finance, capital formation, and accounting, he coaches technology companies in
‘Lean Startup’ methodologies of customer and product developmentto help them validate, optimize, and scale their business model.
Pete is a CFA and started his career as a securities analyst. He was recognized by the Wall Street Journal in 1996 as top analyst covering the semiconductor industry, with a 121% return.
He was a founding partner in a $33 million venture capital fund.
