BILL MARVIN President, Chief Executive Officer and Founder Before founding InstaMed, Bill was an executive in Accentures Health and Life Sciences practice.
Bill worked with senior executives at clients such as UnitedHealth Group, U.S. Dept of Treasury, WellPoint Health Networks and other large blues plans where he developed strategies and led projects in the areas of transaction processing, web-portals, provider adoption and medical management.
Bill was also the founder and CEO of CareWide, which developed Microsoft-based software for managing provider offices and was acquired by Amicore, a joint venture of Microsoft and Pfizer, and now is a part of AllScripts.
Bill graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Economics and was a member of the varsity squash team. Bill has been involved as a member and active board member with several not-for-profit organizations.
DAVID STRIDER Executive Vice President of Business Development David has over 30 years of experience as an executive in the payment industry.
Before joining InstaMed, David was the Executive Vice President of Elavon, (formerly NOVA Information Systems, a subsidiary of US Bancorp) where he was responsible for Global Operations, North America Business Development and Strategic Planning.
At Elavon, he had P&L responsibility for over $200 billion in Visa/MasterCard merchant sales. In this capacity, he led sales distribution via 1,500 financial institutions, 150 MSPs, 200 VARs and national associations to generate 120,000 new accounts per year.
Prior to Elavon, David was Chairman & Managing Partner of Banc One Payment Services and President of Banc One POS Services Corporation (now JP Morgan Chase).
MARK KRAPELS Chief Operating Officer Before joining InstaMed, Mark was Director of Global IT Infrastructure at Shire Pharmaceuticals, a global specialty biopharmaceutical company with annual sales of over $2 billion.
At Shire, Mark led the initiative to consolidate and centralize IT Infrastructure Services in Shires new North American headquarters for the global delivery of Shires IT services.
Several multi-billion dollar acquisitions were integrated into this new infrastructure, which enabled Shire to support its rapid growth.
Prior to Shire, Mark was an executive in Accentures Global Architecture and Core Technology group, where he specialized in IT Operations, Outsourcing and IT Service Management/Delivery. The majority of Marks clients were large global companies in the healthcare/life sciences and financial services industries.
JEFF LIN Vice President of Product Management Before joining InstaMed, Jeff was an executive in Accentures Health and Life Sciences practice, where he led several large enterprise projects focused in business strategy and systems integration for multiple Fortune 100 companies.
Jeffs experience and expertise include a deep focus in the areas of sales and marketing, product management, business intelligence, project management and operations.
Jeff graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics.
In his free time Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife, finding hidden dining gems and is an avid fan of any sports activity on the beach.
KEVIN CHAPMAN Vice President of Services Before joining InstaMed, Kevin was a Vice President at MedQuist, the largest user of speech recognition technology in the world and a leading provider of integrated clinical documentation solutions for the U.S. healthcare system.
At MedQuist, Kevin created and managed the Business Process Engineering team and delivered on several key strategic initiatives. Kevin was also responsible for driving sales effectiveness through market analysis and improved sales tools.
Prior to MedQuist, Kevin managed the Information Technology team for Brokerage Concepts, Inc. (BCI), the largest privately owned third party administrator (TPA) of health benefits (acquired by HealthNow, a Blue Cross/Blue Shield company).
At BCI, Kevin was responsible for managing all EDI processing, including the reengineering of all claims processing to accept electronic claims and convert paper claims to EDI.
CHRIS SEIB Chief Technology Officer and Founder Before founding InstaMed, Chris was an executive in Accentures Health and Life Sciences practice.
Chris focused on architecting and delivering portal and connectivity solutions at clients such as UnitedHealth Group, WellPoint Health Networks and many regional health plans.
Chris has managed large teams of people in multi-project initiatives such as eCommerce development, software application development and operations. Additionally, Chris has been involved in strategic development efforts regarding government health initiatives, consumer-directed health plans and direct connectivity between providers and payers.
Chris has certifications and expertise in Programming, Architecture, Microsoft Technologies, Database Technologies, Networks, Network Architecture, Security and Project Management.
Chris graduated Cum Laude from Harvey Mudd College with a BS in Engineering and a minor in Economics.
RICK CROSWELL Vice President of Marketing and Channel Management Before joining InstaMed, Rick was Senior Executive Vice President of MBNA/Bank of America, where he had direct responsibilities over the past three decades for Marketing, Advertising, Product Innovation, and implementing and managing large scale operational strategies.
He was directly responsible for the innovation, development and market delivery of the credit card industrys first non-American Express Platinum card.
Rick also had direct responsibility for Operations Management, Worldwide Telemarketing, Customer Service call centers, IVR Development, Billing Dispute, Customer Retention and Customer Upsell, managing more than two million calls per day.
Rick is a graduate of the University of Maryland (B.A.) and the School of Bank Marketing, Boulder, Colorado (graduate with distinction).
NATE LENTZ Director Mr. Lentz is a Managing Partner of Osage Partners.
Prior to joining Osage, Mr. Lentz was the CEO of Verticalnet, a leading provider of on-demand supply management software solutions, which was publicly traded. In January of 2008, Verticalnet was acquired by Italy-based BravoSolution.
Prior to Verticalnet, Mr. Lentz was a Partner at Mercer Management Consulting and led both the San Francisco and Hong Kong offices. Nate began his career with Chemical Bank (now JPMorgan Chase) providing lending and structured financial services to mid-sized companies.
Nate received a BA from Brown University and an MBA with honors from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
David joined Osage in 2005 and is involved in several venture organizations, including PACT, Early Stage East and the 3 Rivers Venture Fair. Prior to Osage, he worked at Teradyne, Inc., a Boston-based manufacturer of semiconductor test equipment, where he was a mechanical engineer before becoming a project manager.
David serves on the Board of Directors of Halfpenny Technologies, Identropy, and Ceptaris. He is also a board observer of FieldView, InstaMed, PeopleLinx and ProtonMedia.
JIM GUNTON Director Mr. Gunton is General Partner of NJTC Venture Fund.
Mr. Gunton has served the technology industry for nearly 20 years, initially in Silicon Valley as a rapidly promoted manager at Oracle Corporation, then subsequently in an investment capacity. In 1994, he joined Edison Venture Fund and as Vice President and Principal, led its investment activity in New Jersey.
Jim represents NJTC Venture Fund at seven portfolio companies, was New Jerseys 2004 Financier of the Year, and is a Board Governor of The National Association of SBICs (NASBIC).
Jim received a BS from Stanford University and an MBA with distinction from Duke Universitys Fuqua School of Business.
FRANK ADAMS Vice President of Finance and Accounting Frank brings to InstaMed over 20 years of financial, accounting and operational experience.
Prior to joining InstaMed, Frank was the Vice President of Finance and Treasurer at Arbinet Corporation, a leading telecommunication exchange and internet-based provider of international voice, data and managed communication services for fixed, mobile and wholesale carriers.
Frank was instrumental in Arbinets successful IPO in 2004. Additionally, he led Arbinets Sarbanes Oxley compliance, risk management and treasury functions.
Prior to Arbinet, Frank worked with various companies in the gift and collectible industry, including Cast Art Industries, where he was Chief Financial Officer. Frank began his career with Arthur Andersen in their Philadelphia, PA, office.
Frank has an MBA from Rutgers University and a BS from Dickinson College.
He is a member of the AICPA and PICPA.
KEN MACNEAL Chief Administrative Officer and Treasurer Ken graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with concentrations in Accounting and Management. He spent the next four years with KPMG in the Assurance Services group.
During his KPMG career, he was a Sr. Accountant performing financial audits on various types of organizations, and then a Senior Consultant in the Information Risk Management (IRM) practice. In the IRM practice as a Certified Information Systems Auditor, Ken focused on IT security analysis and consulting, specializing in SAS70 and general control reviews.
Some of his KPMG clients included Keystone Mercy Health Plan, Temple University Health System, Rohm & Haas, Airgas, SEPTA, York and Rollins Trucking.
Ken also worked for EDS Corporation in their consumer loans and lines of credit outsourcing group.
HOWELL D. MCCULLOUGH, III Director Mr. McCullough (Mac) is Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer and Head of U.S. Enterprise Revenue Office of U.S. Bancorp (NYSE Symbol: USB), the fifth largest commercial bank in the U.S. with $340 billion in assets, operating 3,080 banking offices and 5,061 ATMs.
Through its wholly owned subsidiaries, U.S. Bank and Elavon, U.S. Bancorp is the 10th largest payment card issuer in the world and one of the largest merchant acquirers in the United States and in Europe as measured by the number of merchants serviced. In his role as Chief Revenue Officer, Mac works across all divisions of the bank and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
Previously, Mac served as Director of Strategy and Acquisitions of the Payment Services business of U.S. Bancorp and also served as Chief Financial Officer of the Payment Services business.
TIMOTHY C. COLLINS Director Mr. Collins is Principal of T.C. Collins & Associates, a real estate development and asset management firm in southern California which he founded in 1986.
Previously, he was Executive Vice President and CFO of Jet America Airlines, a company he co-founded and took public in 1981, which was acquired by Alaska Airlines in 1987. From 1975 1980 he was Controller/CFO of Air California, a public company, which was subsequently acquired by American Airlines. From 1970 1975 he was an auditor with Arthur Andersen & Co. In addition to his role as a director of InstaMed, Mr. Collins serves as an Advisory Board member for Cornerstone Ventures, the manager of a publicly registered, non-traded real estate fund specializing in industrial multi-tenant business parks.
Mr. Collins serves as chairman of its audit/financial oversight committee.
Mr. Collins graduated from the University of Santa Clara with a B.A. in Commerce and is a licensed C.P.A. (inactive).
