Miami, Florida, June 11, 2019: Dade Legal Aid’s Put Something Back program hosted a panel on Copyright Trolls at The LAB Miami on Tuesday. Mark Stein, Esq., Geoffrey Lottenberg, Esq., and John Eagan, Esq., helped attorneys answer Who owns my wedding pictures? and Can my business use pictures from Flickr? Their warning: no matter who—corporation or entrepreneur or blog writer—copyright trolls trap and charge people who misstep in copyright law. They send demand letters for money, then clients ask questions attorneys like panel moderator Jaime Rich Vining, Esq., can answer.
Dade Legal Aid is a nonprofit legal firm for low-income residents in Miami Dade. Alongside their dedication to family law, domestic violence, housing, and bankruptcy, is Put Something Back: a Pro Bono initiative to pair pre-screened clients with attorneys who come from small and big firms, clinics, law schools – no matter their firm or focus, Put Something Back welcomes lawyers who want to help.
