Incorporated in February 2011 with its HQ in Berlin, Germany, EyeEm is a smart photo-sharing application for smartphones that constantly learns about user tastes, and recommends albums of similar photos from friends and like-minded people around the world. EyeEm automatically categorizes similar photos into albums, enabling users to discover places, topics and events, and allowing them to customize their photo feed based on interests.
Jason Whitmire joined Earlybird Venture Capital as a General Partner in July 2010 where he focuses on Mobile Services, Cloud Computing and Digital Media. He currently sits on the boards of Socialbakers, Traxpay, RapidMiner, B2X, Peak Games, and EyeEm. Jason has built and led two companies to global leadership. Until June 2010 he served as General Manager & Vice President at Wind River Systems, where he founded and managed the company’s high growth mobile business (which according to the Wall Street Journal was the motivation behind Intel’s acquisition of Wind River for $884 million in July 2009). Since the acquisition Jason has also advised Intel on its mobile software strategy.
Previously Jason was shareholder and Managing Director of open source real-time Linux provider FSMLabs Inc. and played a key role in its acquisition by Wind River in 2007. At FSMLabs Jason ran the company’s global business, growing it to serve over 50 Fortune 500 companies. Prior to that Mr.

Christophe was also cofounder ofPlazes.com, a company which pioneered checking-in (and was bought by Nokia in 2008). Christophe is co-founder ofPhoneDeck.com (mobile to browser service) andEyeEm.com (photo-sharing service). Christophe attended school in St.Gallen, ESADE and Stanford and worked in Asia for a few years.Christophe with swiss citizen is active in the Berlin tech scene and was involved in the creation of Brands4Friends, StudyVZ, Plista, Barcoo, AppAware, Amen, Readmill andSoundCloud.com (board of directors).
