SAN FRANCISCO,– Hotshot, a leader in secure, compliant messaging and collaboration that launched in 2018, today announced that CEO and co-founder Aaron Turner was honored as a winner for SC Media’s Top Executive Leaders of the Last 30 Years award.
As part of SC Media’s 30th anniversary in cybersecurity, they recognized leaders who shaped the industry. Winners were selected by SC Media’s editorial team and SC Awards co-chairs, and announced at a gala event on March 5, 2019 in San Francisco, concurrent with the RSA Conference.
“Over the last three decades, the winners of our 30th Anniversary Awards have left an indelible imprint on the cybersecurity industry through their tireless work and visionary leadership,” said Illena Armstrong, VP, editorial, SC Media. “Aaron Turnerhas most assuredly earned this honor for his continued dedication to protecting enterprises from today’s sophisticated threats.”
Turner spent decades understanding how to protect information and systems from attackers, untrustworthy technology companies and nation/state surveillance operations. He is a serial entrepreneur with experience quarterbacking new teams and initiatives within large organizations and in the last decade launching three startups to bring innovative solutions to market. Aaron is passionate about solving security problems and creating value for investors and customers.
Among the remarkable milestones Turner has achieved – he has been a security innovator at Microsoft, a trusted advisor to the US Government, consultant to Fortune 1000 companies, a top-rated speaker, sought-after author and a visionary entrepreneur who has built security solutions from scratch to thwart cybercriminals and benefit organizations worldwide.
His latest venture, Hotshot, provides organizations with patent-pending location-and-time based encryption for compliant messaging, collaboration and identity management, built on a zero-trust foundation. This innovative solution launched in June 2018 to solve new security problems that global enterprises face today – protecting data while complying with GDPR, HIPPA, CCPA, SEC, ITAR, and labor laws in the EU and US. Hotshot recently closed its first round of seed funding and was invited to participate with the Luxembourg Government’s technology incubation program as a Technoport startup.
“I am proud to accept this award, but this honor is shared with scores of people I have worked with here at Hotshot and in my previous leadership roles. Advancing cybersecurity to deliver military-grade solutions that protect organizations and their data is a team effort,” said Turner.
Hotshot was also honored at the March 5th gala as a finalist for SC Media’s 2019 Trust Awards in the Best Mobile Security Solution category.
