Interview Released Today Highlights Importance of Women in Tech Leadership Roles
In conjunction with the launch of the Decade Of Women, backed by 5th Element Group on International Women’s Day in March of this year, Sally Eaves was named to a prestigious list of Digital Frontier Women.
Professor Sally Eaves was presented the Digital Frontier Award by Amber Nystrom, co-founder of 5th Element Group. The honoree was selected for her pioneering work at the forefront of digital thought leadership, particularly in leveraging blockchain technology for social good, as well as for her investment in providing STE(A)M learning opportunities for the next generation.
Eaves is a CTO for Emergent Technology, a Professor of Practice (specializing in Blockchain), a global speaker and author, a founder of Aspirational Futures, a STEM lead and a Charity Trustee. She is a Forbes Technology Council member and writes regular contributions for leading business, technology, press and academic publications. She is an international keynote speaker on Blockchain, AI, FinTech, the future of work and innovation trends, and a respected online influencer across multiple channels.
In this newly published interview hosted by SCN Corporate Connect, filmed at the Decade Of Women launch, Eaves shared the convictions that have fueled her amazing career achievements. “We need visible role models in technology and beyond. I think it’s absolutely fantastic to showcase talent across sectors…there’s a real ethos of collaboration, not competition, [in the Decade Of Women movement], which I think is massively important. In technology, which I’m involved in, anything we can do to bring people together to share expertise is absolutely critical.”
“I’m passionate about technology as a force for social good,” Eaves continued. “So this collaborative community is essential and I’m really looking forward to being a champion for this Decade Of Women.”
In the interview, Eaves also speaks to ways in which she believes blockchain will be used for social good.
Sally Eaves embodies the values of the Decade Of Women and its manifesto. She anticipates many collaborations through the Innovation Supercluster forming at the intersection of frontier technology and the gender equity movement.
