History of Hope Ride
David Crabtree founded Hope Ride, a bicycle endurance epic, in 2011 to fund missionary projects. Past Hope Rides have crossed states and nations, changing culture by positively affecting the lives of children with the gospel and resources for a better life. For the past six years Hope Ride has partnered with Reaching a Generation, a South Africa based ministry that focuses on the needs of children. Much of the funding raised through Hope Ride goes to the drilling of water wells in areas where it is all too common for children to be taken by crocodiles in their daily trek to the Zambezi for water.
On August 24, Hope Ride 2017 will cover more than 600 miles in 6 days from Mokopane, South Africa, to the Reaching a Generation base near Sioma, Zambia. The ride crosses wild Africa where Elephants, Giraffe, Ostriches, Warthogs, Baboons, and Jackals create an unusual backdrop for cycling.
Please help Hope Ride bring clean water, eternal hope, and needed resources to this impoverished part of the world.
David Crabtree serves as lead pastor at Calvary Church, an Assemblies of God fellowship in Greensboro, North Carolina.
