Hey baby mumma come on now! Hey baby mumma help me out!
ALBUM!
Hey palominos, we need your support! Myself and the band are really excited to get a record finished for you, we’ve been in and out of the studio now for the past couple of years honing in on all the best sounds we can muster. It’s coming along beautifully and sounds wild, we just need a little extra push. We have a whole bundle of great things to give you and can’t wait.
All the elements from an Andy Golledge live show will feature on the record; solo, trio and band. There’s a little trio taster at the end of our crowdfunding vid you can check out. We’ve also done full band sessions with heaps of my favourite friends and musicians singing on the record.
NASHVILLE!
We’ve been selected in the first round to showcase at Americana Music Festival in Nashville Tennesse!!!
This a really big opportunity for us. If there was ever going to be a chance for us to show our music to the right people, this is it. We want to make it count, and that means taking the whole band to Nashville to do what we do best, put on some sique live shows for the people. There’s also going to be heaps of other industry stuff happening for us there. This trip will really help us start to build the foundations for the album and the project.
On top of all this radness, we’ve also been accepted to showcase at some awesome Australian events that we will announce real soon!
We’d love you all to be a part of it.
We’re looking to raise 10k. As you can see below in the cost breakdown, we need a fair bit more than that to make this all happen. We think this a good target as we’d love support any engagement from our fans, but we also want to work hard ourselves. Everyone in the band is chipping in. Any extra moneys raised will go to helping us get to Nashville and expenses.
Cheers as.
Andy.
QUOTES:
“Andy Golledge is one of the key voices and songwriters for Australian music – for me there’s no stronger connection between the lyrics and melodies found in the country right now.”
Johnny Took, DMAs
“I don’t know how he does it but every one of Andy’s songs suck me in hook, line and sinker… He’s one of Sydney’s finest songwriters and vocalists going.”
Bex Chilcott (Ruby Boots)
Andy Golledge opened proceedings with an impressive set built on long, winding songs
that ebbed and flowed from subtle folkisms to wildly emotive passages where his voice
tipped over into a glorious falsetto. With fine backing from Leroy Lee on slide guitar and
banjo the pair set the scene perfectly with their blues-tinged country music.

The first afternoon found The Andy Golledge Band not only playing some fabulous tunes,
but looking like they just stepped out of Laurel Canyon with their suede and boots and
beards and flowing long hair. The pipes of Caitlyn Harnett have recently joined the group
and they were in a raucous mood on and off the stage. Golledge’s ‘Baby Mama’ is a
particularly infectious number and deserves to be heard outside of the gumtrees of
Dashville.

BIO:
If there were to be a Sydney city Troubadour, it would be Andy Golledge. In the inner west
hub of Newtown, Andy’s shows are urban legend. It is here that he has honed his craft,
spending the last decade on stages, captivating audiences and inking memories.
You’d be hard pressed to find a Newtown venue where Andy hasn’t had crowds spilling
onto the streets; where you wouldn’t hear stories of him climbing up on top of the bar or
piano, guitar in hand, punters eagerly pushing a mic stand up to him as he rips through yet
another amazing version of his original tunes. Mention his name to any publican or local
music lover and you will be greeted with a smile. They know how good he is. They know
what he can do.
Andy has the gift and skills of a classic songwriter. A true lyricist that wears his heart on his
sleeve. A born and raised Australian country boy, taking inspiration from American writers
like Neil Young, Glenn Campbell, Leon Russell, Gillian Welsh and Daniel Romano; Andy
presents us with his own personal brand of Americana. If you hear an Andy Golledge song,
you’ll know it.
Andy’s band has attracted some of the genre’s finest Australian talent, in Leroy Lee and
Caitlin Harnett. Both amazing artists in their own right, Leroy and Caitlin both have
extensive touring and musical achievements to their names in Canada and the U.S, and
bring to the band a wealth of experience and craft. The full band 6 piece show is an
unforgettable experience. They are booked weekly within the inner west community of
venues, often headlining events and pulling capacity crowds. They’ve opened for Sticky
Fingers, played the Metro, and have been regulars on bills at Newtown Social Club, The
Union Hotel, The Marly, The Blacksheep, the list goes on…
Andy’s music spans from the party scene to the intimate and fragile. When he plays solo,
the whole room stops to listen. He has the ability to move an audience from the moment
he starts to sing.
Work has begun on the debut album, seeing Andy team up with production duo John Vella
and Ryan Miller, who recently took fellow Sydney band Tenderfoot to Abbey Road. The
record will span the vast collection of Andy’s catalogue; from his most intimate works
through to the live energy of his stage band sound. It’s due for completion late 2017.
Andy will be travelling to Nashville in September.
Much more than just another alt-country or folk singer; he’s a troubadour, a wild man, a
gentle soul – at times all of these at once. – Anonymous
