This is a project to publish a book of New England High Country photography.
After I successfully crowdfunded and published my photography book, New England High Country – Contrast and Colour in 2014, I launched a new project, New England High Country -100 Photographers, which asked local and visiting photographers to submit photos of our region* for possible inclusion in a new coffee table book.
From the 3290 images submitted, four judges have selected the work of 38 photographers for this new book. These photographers have shot an amazing variety of high country images including land, water & urban scapes, events, rural life, the university, historic Then & Now photos, night skies, flora and fauna. This book will highlight the work of many very talented photographers some of whom you may know.
The photographers whose work has been selected are Adrienne Jackson, Alan Davison, Alec Watt, Anthony Dale, Beth Wode, Bob Thompson, Ed Saunders, Evelyn Owen, Gail Bryant, Graham MacDougall, Grant Eyre, Glenn Hand, Iain Davidson, James Russell, Jason Starr, Jeni Mackenzie, Jim Walmsley, Joanne Knight, Judi Kenny, Kay Nash, Lib Martin, Louise Kelly, Mal Donnelly, Mal Ridges, Mark & Bernice O’Mahoney, Michael Bradley, Michael James, Michael Taylor, Paul Earl, Peter Reid, Poppy Abbott, Robert Stanley, Sue Burgess, Sue Jaggar, Suresh Kumar, Terry Cooke and Virginia Ward.
Funds now need to be raised to design and print the book. If you would like to support the publication of this book please check out and purchase one or more of the rewards on offer.
My 2014 crowdfunded book has proved to be very popular as a gift and now resides on coffee tables and bookshelves in both Australia and numerous countries around the world. Those I know of include Germany, Croatia, Romania, Canada, New Guinea, Iran, UK, USA, Japan and China.
New England High Country – Contrast and Colour will sell out in 2018 and will not be reprinted.
This new book of local photography will replace my current book and, if the funds are raised, will be launched, along with an exhibition, at the New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) in March 2018.
In addition to purchasing copies of the book there are a considerable number of experiential rewards on offer from the participating photographers. One of these could make a rather unique birthday or Christmas present, particularly for that person who is always so hard to buy for!
Please check out all the rewards on offer – purchasing just one will help make this book a reality.
Kind Regards,
Terry Cooke

*The photography in this book is centred in and around Armidale and extends to cover an area which includes Walcha, Uralla, Guyra, Glen Innes, Tenterfield, Inverell and Ebor.
The funds raised will be used to design, print and distribute the book.
The book will go to a local not-for-profit organisation for distribution. This organisation will be able to raise funds as the distributor.
The most challenging aspect of this project has been the work that the four judges have put into the shortlisting the 3000+ images submitted. The judges have put hours of work into this selection process with their toughest task yet to come – finalising the selection of photos to be published. This will happen when the funds have been raised to design and print the book.
