CITYstage inspires Los Angeles kids and teens to become artists & leaders in a free, two-week long Summer Camp intensive program that cultivates individuality, fitness, and artistic expression.
CITYstage was founded in 2010 by professional performer, choreographer and dance teacher, Emili Danz. Emili created CITYstage as a way to give inner city youth the opportunity to experience the positive outcomes that dance, music and theater provide; offering a free, after school enrichment program to at-risk middle and high school students in South Los Angeles. CITYstage classes and initiatives are guided by what we call the CITYstage Method or “Mind, Body, Stage” approach.
Our unique method integrates more than just the academic, the physical or the performing arts alone. We challenge students to realize their full potential by engaging in activities that develop well-rounded individuals. We believe that a balanced arts program that focuses on the mind, body and stage (performance) creates confident, productive, well-adjusted citizens with a strong sense of community.
CITYstage serves public schools and community centers in South Los Angeles and has a summer home at ArtShare LA in the arts district of Downtown Los Angeles.
We are kicking off our 4th annual CITYstage Summer Camp from July 10-21!
