Hello KF Buyers,
We are Devon Chase & Company and we are excited to come back to Kickfurther for the third time. For almost 30 years we have been manufacturing and distributing what we consider some of the best futon mattresses in the world. That being said, to maintain our high standards we have in place our “Inspector 13” quality control program. Any futon mattress can be removed from the manufacturing line by anyone at our company at any time in the production process. That is the way we have always operated and always will. That being said, some futon mattresses don’t make the cut. Rejected futons are removed from the production line and (as we have for years) donated to those in need and sometimes to our furry friends. We offer many sizes and the smaller futon mattresses end up as dog beds. After years of handing out dog beds to furry friends and furry family we found that they loved the “pocketed coil” model the best. We offer all of the fancy foams but the truth of the matter is the coil system is very comfortable and cool in temperature. So, as part of our product line-up, we now offer the Cozy Coil Happy Tails Futon.
This specific co-op is to cover an order of these dog beds which will be sold to a domestic distributor and embroiderer Common Ground Import & Export. They have been in business for many years and have an excellent reputation.
Based on our track record of KF success, the reasonable size of this raise and our many years of successful business experience we believe our co-op is an excellent opportunity and we welcome you to join us.
Established in 1989, Devon Chase & Company has had one goal in mind – produce America’s most comfortable futons, period! With that being said, we should first explain our position in the futon mattress market and how we achieved our market position.
Our company started in a very unique situation compared to many futon mattress producers, we opened fully automated. We had the fortune to produce our futons with the best machines available so that a) we could produce a high quality product and b) we could produce consistent product in efficient volumes. Many futon mattresses at the time were produced by standard or conventional bed manufacturers as a secondary product as an additional income stream. Our company was designed strictly to produce futon mattresses as our primary product and we wanted to become the best in the industry. The most common futon mattress was either all cotton or a combination of both cotton and polyurethane foam. And yes, we jumped into the market producing these styles futon mattresses from the very beginning, only with producing a better product as our goal. What differentiated our product from the majority of the competition was our high quality of production in high volumes. While many manufacturers offered starting price points products, also know as low price starters or advertised specials for entry level, we chose to produce only the best and stayed away from the low end market. Our business model worked, we did not need to offer low end futon mattresses to gain market share. We also helped raise the futon industry bar in both quality and value!
At this point, Devon Chase & Company needed to become innovators. We decided to make a new futon mattress, much different at the time than the rest. We decided to include a coil spring into the core of the futon mattress. Unheard of at the time, we had to work direct a manufacturer to adapt a low profile coil spring unit and make it usable for a fold in a futon mattress. It worked! From the conception of this new coil spring futon, mattress sales grew from a couple a week to thousands to YTD. Sales remained strong an this style futon mattress is still one of our best sellers. High end, well made and consistent. These values are here to stay at Devon Chase & Company.
Devon Chase & Company was founded in 1989 by Thomas Tedesco. Tom is a veteran in the bedding/sleep industry designing and manufacturing conventional mattresses, waterbeds and futon mattresses. In 1990, Tom hired his mangement team to include Susan Tedesco, Corporate Secretary, Tammy Weaver, COO and Charles Metz, General Manager. These key people remain the current mangement team today giving a combined 101 years experience in offering the “Most Comfortable Futons in America!”
