A development aid project in GK Silver Heights
We are 4 students ready to live a life changing humanitarian and above all human experience!
Our objective is to help to develop one of the communities built by the NGO Gawad Kalinga in the Philippines.
Founded in 2003 by Tony Meloto, elected “Social Entrepreneur of the year” by Ernst & Young in 2010, the aim of the association Gawad Kalinga, which means “to give care” in Filipino, is to fight against extreme poverty in the Philippines by building empowered, sustainable, self-sufficient “communities” and to significantly develop and scale-up social businesses.
Today, more than 2300 “GK Villages” cover the country with a social impact estimated at one million beneficiaries which represents 1% of the total population!

What is our mission?
Starting from July 4th, we will have 6 weeks to develop our project in GK Silver Heights with which we will work in close relation so that they will be able to develop the project and make it sustainable, well after the end of our mission. To discover what our project will be and how you can help us, watch the video!
As we will be living with the locals, we will be fully implicated in the community life and will participate to the daily activities such as tutoring, the implementation of health and ecological awareness, home renovation and construction or farm and garden operations.
We personally pay for our own transportation (plane tickets), accommodation and living expenses on site.
The money raised will only be used to finance our project. It will be used to purchase the equipment needed to carry out the project.
The amount is based on former groups testimonies and the association itself. Each euro received will be fully invested in local investment within the community and for the members.
Every small contribution counts!
Agathe is a student at ESCP Europe Business School, in Paris. This volunteering project will be her second one in the region. She has never been to the Philippines but she already has a personal bond with the country since she has been financially supporting a Philippine girl through a charity program for several years. Because she is particularly interested in writing, she will be the one in charge of sharing our adventure with you. She will be our reporter.
Valentin has a rich experience in social entrepreneurship: during his studies at Montebello School of International Trade, in Lille, he used to work on an NGO project creation aimed at establishing fair trade for small farmers in Africa and South America and helping share farming methods with them. He will be in charge of our communications with the Gawad Kalinga delegates.
Arnaud has traveled a lot in Asia. This mission will be his second travel to the Philippines and he is looking forward to it! His experience in a social and solidarity program at his school, HEC Paris, will help him on his first volunteering experience. As the eldest and also the most experimented in social business, he will be our team leader on-site.
Alice is a student at Audencia Business School. Half french and half filipina she has a particular bond with the country. Alice is already fully involved in the setup of this mission, in particular, she is the one that made this crowdfunding possible. Plus, as the only Philippine of the adventure, she is even more precious to the team: she will be our guide.
Follow this adventure closely, it is just getting started!
Thank you for your help !
