Conquering the world – 150 000 km to finance!
Following the success of « Faces of Rugby » structured around the French Top14 rugby Championship, let us present you with « Faces of the World of Rugby » !
We have 2 years to create the most noticeable and recognisable rugby book in the World: “FACES of the RUGBY WORLD” The thirty best living rugby players of each major rugby country in the World!
More than 40 years of World Rugby history, a unique piece of art in time for the World Cup 2019 in Japan! More than 400 portraits, 500 pages and around one hundred testimonials, a unique book, which will become a reference across the Rugby World.
Between 20 to 30 “legends” from each major rugby country.
This list of legends must and will be studied carefully as we must have in our book the greatest players “alive” at the time of the shooting. We can therefore find past legends and current international players. Our aim is to create a work of art in the sports industry, which will forever remain in the history of the Rugby World.
We are genuinely going to surf on a worldwide event with the World Cup in Japan in 2019:
BUT THE GAME HAS ALREADY KICKED OFF AND WE ARE ALL PLAYING TOGETHER!

Quick Interview
How to describe this book?
An encyclopedia, A rugby portraits bible, a collector book, a journey back in time “2.0 version” but not only that … We are going to take the rugby planet by storm with this project. You will be the first to help us launch this ambitious worldwide adventure.
How much traveling will you do?
150 000 km! New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Japan, Argentina, France, UK & Ireland… We will organise our shooting schedule and of course optimise every trip accordingly.
Why decline this project internationally?
The concept does not exist. We master all the phases of the book conception: photo-shoot, artistic direction, manufacturing, promotion, everything is done internally except printing. We are our own publisher. An international book is the perfect next stage for this unique concept and our friends at Ulule will be the first stepping stone of this great adventure.
Beginning of the adventure?
The first portraits will be taken in May 2017 with some English and French rugby legends and we are aiming to fly to Australia & New Zealand towards the end of 2017.
You already have a strong community with you?
More than 40,000 unconditional fans follow us every day and for sure tomorrow you will at least be twice that number! Come and join us!
A team of seven people will travel to all five continents, Oceania (Australia, New Zealand, Pacific islands) Asia (Japan), Europe (UK & Ireland, France, Italy, Russia, Georgia), America (Canada, USA, Argentina), Africa more than 50 days of shooting… 150 000 km by plane, by train and by car.
In this project, 1 Euro = 1 km of travel paid and each donation offers its own benefit.
Our first goal is to fund
The trip to New Zealand and Australia budgeted at 35 000 Euros.
Second stage,
if the donations exceed 55 000 Euros, we will also travel to South Africa to meet our Springboks friends.
Third stage,
if the donations exceed 75 000 Euros, we meet the Pumas in Argentina.
Fourth stage,
if the donations exceed 95 000 Euros, we will travel to Japan to meet with the “Brave Blossoms”.
Fifth stage,
f the donations exceed 120 000 Euros, we will travel to North America to meet the “Canucks” & the “Eagles”.
Sixth stage,
If the global donations exceed 150 000 Euros, we will tour Europe (UK & Ireland, Italy, France, Russia, Georgia…)
A movie “from the inside”:
An ex-French international rugby player will follow us on our different shooting location and will go back on the past rivalry and encounters with his former opponents. The production and realisation will be directed by www.riothouseprod.com, little imagery geniuses who have numerous national and international references to their assets like the making-of of the Nespresso campaign. The role of the “making-of” team is to capture the essence and atmosphere of a shoot and to show to the general public how a shoot takes place, without ever disturbing and making themselves as discreet as possible to create a one of a kind behind the scene movie.
The movie:
Our international, Julien Pierre (27 caps for France, played in the World Cup final in 2011), will travel with us and meet with the greatest legends of the game. As seen here with the Argentinean Augustin Pichot.
A 2.0 Book: Extend the “Faces of the Rugby World” experience through exclusive video content.
Like any good book, “Faces” has an end… We want to offer our readers an in depth experience, like accessing more information about players, behind the scene content and as well as on the design of the book itself.
The integration of a QR code associated with a “Face of the Rugby World” allows, after being flashed by a tablet and / or a smartphone, to access a video interview directed by Julien Pierre. The format of the video interview is about one minute. There, you will find the confidences, the anecdotes of a legend made to Julien capturing all the emotions. The intervention of Julien Pierre is essential in these videos because his knowledge of the rugby world and his relations, near or far, with the players will allow a true exchange. We will look here for relaxation and openness, unlike an interview of a journalist who would remain too neutral.

A launch party in a couple of rugby capitals.
We must launch the book with the help of global partners in 2 major cities in the world: Paris, Tokyo…. A gala evening attended by the press, our business partners, our ambassadors – our captains, past & current international players and some privileged members of our Ulule community.
A World Traveling Exhibition with big format portraits of the book
A staging around the legends of rugby, impressive portraits, a real atmosphere, a touch of French art for the greatest happiness of all the lovers of the game across the planet. We could tailor made the exhibitions according to the hall or the gallery specifications by installing rugby posts, a synthetic lawn, memorabilia. The portraits will be like the interactive book thanks to the QR code in order to see the interviews of each player.
Targeted Cities: Paris, Toulouse, Toulon, Clermont-Ferrand, Roma, Tokyo, London, Dublin, Edinburgh, Los Angeles, New York, Cardiff, Johannesburg, Durban, Sydney, Brisbane, Christchurch, Buenos Aires … These exhibitions will bring us to the 2023 World Cup.

Monty Shadow “The visionary man”
The man who was Google before Google. The star of the team, he whispers key advises to the Presidents of the largest companies in the world. He started his career with one of his masters: Andy Warhol, then he brought into the fashion world a young 17 years old South African girl named Charlize Theron… He is literally the sniffer dog of the World’s biggest brands to anticipate trends and he honours us by joining the team in this ambitious journey. A former international basketball player with Yugoslavia, he is also a keen England Rugby rugby follower. He will be considered as the coach who has already many trophies in his cupboard but always motivated to take on a new challenge.
Damien Boursiquot
Developed the Eden Park brand internationally and managed the brand’s international rugby partnerships for 12 years. Specialist of the England Rugby Team, he cultivates his French flair when on the pitch with his English friends. He is the perfect little scrumhalf, lively with a quick and precise pass, a good kicking display and playing well behind his forwards.
Riothouse Production :
Young creative audiovisual geniuses and crazy at the same time. A World reference with the making of the Nespresso campaign for the McCann agency and much more (www.riothouseprod.com)… Our 4 companions form the backline of “Faces of the Rugby World”. Our gazelles are endowed with phenomenal speed, a clear capacity of sidestepping and also very strong in the contact area.
Jean-Pierre Pagès :
Creator of the “Gueules du Rugby” & “Faces of the Rugby World” projects, former journalist, specialist in marketing and communication. General Coordinator, he is the number 10 dictating the game by foot or by hand. He has a 100% kicking record but not beyond the 40 meters line.
Eric Siano:
He is the pitbull of the team, he is not scared of anything and never gives up! He is in charge of all the logistics and the running of all operations. Our pocket-sized flanker is responsible for scraping the ball into the rucks and energising the attacks.
