Atty turns 8 years old in September, will you help him to reach his birthday?
After a visit to the vet today, we discovered that Atty is suffering from Glaucoma. Glaucoma is a condition in which pressure is placed on the eye, causing inadequate fluid drainage in the eye, and can be very painful and discomforting! To relieve this pain and discomfort the eyeball itself must be surgically removed. After this, the eye lids are stitched up and the eyes can heal quite rapidly.
Atty was bitten by a paralysis tick in FNQ at the age of 3, and ever since his eye sight has been deteriorating, and over the past year his eyesight is pretty much all gone. The vet said, that because he is already accustomed to being blind this surgery wont be much of an impact on him, and he should adjust really easily.
At present, Atty is very lethargic all day and uninterested in his surroundings or getting out of bed. Initially I thought there was something wrong with him internally, but after a comprehensive bloodtest and visit to the veterinary clinic, we now know that his lethargy is due to chronic pain and discomfort of the eyes.
We really don’t want Atty to suffer any longer, so we have set up this crowd funding campaign, in the hopes of raising this money in the next 2 weeks, so we can do the surgery immediately. The vet estimated the surgery will cost $2500 and we have already been approved by VetPay to receive a partial repayment program for the amount of $750. The vet has given us pain relief for the next 2 weekswhile we work on this funding campaign.
So all we need now is to raise $1750, and that’s where YOU come in…
All we ask is that you donate $15 – $25 to help us reach our target. Ifthis isn’t possible, even $5 or $1 will make a difference. If you’re unable to donate any money at all then, PLEASE SHARE THIS LINK with friends, family and on your social media sites.
We thank you deeply for your loving generosity and support!
Much love,
from Marisol, Atty & Sutra,
