In north east of France France, a recording studio for penniless musicians!
In Lorraine region (East of France)…in the town of Saint Nicolas de Port…
Imagine a friendly place dedicated to music creation and recording
A place where music, friendship and technical skills are shared.
Not a music factory which would need to be cost-effective and profitable but a professional standard studio where one can record a few songs without going bankrupt or spilling one’s savings
After a professional career as a sound technician in the 1980s and 1990s, I now work in the scientific researchfield but my heart has never left the audio world. I perform audio recordings in my home studio but I also design and build the necessary electronic equipment (preamplifiers, compressor modulation, digital converters, microphones and high-speaker systems…)
Contributing to improve the Audiolinea Studio is to give an opportunity to musicians, which have little or no financial means, to record an EP in a stressless and friendly atmosphere, taking the time to do it right.
The Audiolinea Studio is also a place dedicated to audio experimentation open to ideas off the beaten track
My project is focused on sharing. The friendly exchange around a music project
Everyone will find their benefit: musicians will free themselves of recording technical considerations and I’ll have the pleasure of sharing my skills and contributing in my own way to the creation of music
The studio premises (70m²) already exist. The studio is already acoustically treated and functionnal. Numerous projects have already been carried out (among others: The Bloody Bear Company, Soul Stuff, Téachel, Gentle Noise, Timothy Ward, Badmash…)
I would like to take the studio to a higher level by acquiring some new equipment, mainly A/D interfaces, dispatching and cabling.
This equipment will enable to improve the recording and mastering of artists who will come jam in the studio.
The equipment I already have is sufficient for my personal music projects. This Ulule project is entirely destined for sharing and helping other musicians, bands and artists.
From my personal tastes in music and the layout of the studio, I will mainly focus on jazz, songwriter, classic, traditional music projects as well as any acoustic or weakly amplified music projects.

The funds of this project are:
– To buy a computer audio interface (Ferrofish A16Mk2 conversion and PCIe Madi interface) which enables more possibilities than my current RME interface
– To completely redesign the layout of the studio to move the “control room” and triple the area dedicated to sound recording
– To rewire the studio notably the multi-pair cables that dispatch the audio signals throughout the studio (connectors, plugs and multi-pair cables; I will take care of setting them up)
– Renew the wiring network dedicated to the playback signal and buy a set of new headphones
– To build a pacthbay (homemade)
– To buy spare parts to build and repair other pieces of equipment (compressors, preamplifiers, equalization, microphones…). Some of which are already buying build as we speak!
– To buy or renew the studio accessories such as microphone stands, music stands, stools, guitar stands…
The amount of money asked in this Ulule project will not cover all these costs. I will also financially contribute to making this project work!
My name is Jérôme Demaison. I was born with a soldering iron in my hand and eager ears
It was only evident to associate both !
From y childhood onwards I have tinkered with sound… From old radio transistors salvaged as a child to recording studios and concert halls that I studied and installed. Sound became my career in the 1980s and 1990s. I worked in control rooms in concert halls and theatres. I rambled from stages to workshops, from modern studios to smoky basements.
I work with the top of the bill and passionate amateurs.
I have set up outrageously expensive equipment and spent nights fiddling with electric circuits just for the sake of it and the pleasure of musician friends.
After all, it can all be summarized as the pleasure of exchanging, sharing and expressing my passion.
Some make musical notes… Me? I record them!
