Business Description
I started my business in January 2014 for individuals and small businesses that felt that they were not important to other accounting professionals. As an accounting professional with over 15 years pf experience, it was difficult seeing small business owners and individuals struggle with the finances. The focus of McCormick-Smith Services, LLC is improving financial growth.
The biggest challenge that the business currently faces is the ability to stand before the IRS on many cases for clients and limiting growth due to the lack of having an additional, trained employee on staff to assist with the needs of the clients.
The future of McCormick-Smith Services, LLC is to become a “One-Stop Service Center” for individuals and small businesses. Currently, we offer bookkeeping, tax, payroll and administrative services but we would like to offer class in financial education, credit repair, investments, and much more.
Currently, McCormick-Smith Services LLC has only one employee, who is the owner and operator.
What is the purpose of this loan?
In 2014, I opened a bookkeeping, tax and administrative services business to assist individuals and small businesses with their financial needs. Over the past few years I have had steady growth but in order to provide my clients assistance with working with the Internal Revenue Service, I would like to become an Enrolled Agent and train another employee so that they can become an Annual Filing Season Participant. Additionally offering clients more options via the company website, such as uploading documents, easy form submission, etc, would help to streamline the business.
The Kiva loan will allow me to purchase the Enrolled Agent training course ($1,300), the three-part testing ($327), the Annual Filing Season Participate Training and Testing package ($150), travel to the training sessions and testing ($1,250). The remaining funding would be used toward website improvements and marketing.
