When playboy celebrity Nick Belvedere gets accused of murder, he gets pushed over the edge and reveals his true narcissistic nature.
What is Narcissistic?
Narcissistic is a short film about Nick Belvedere, a playboy club owner who is accused of a murder. This story is a psychological thriller in the veins of Nightcrawler, Gone Girl and Only God Forgives. Aesthetics paired with a strong narrative brings this skin-crawling story to life.
We have already filmed a large part of this short film, but now we need your help to finish it. Keep reading below to take in the scope and quality of our fantastic story.
Nick Belvedere’s story… where do we start?
This story is to show the world that modern day narcissism is a disturbing factor in our everyday society. With more social media platforms and current narcissistic trends, this can be very harmful once consumed by the materialism and necessities we believe we must possess. We want to show a character who not only has a narcissistic personality disorder but a representation of a their relationships with others. We want to shed a light on narcissism in our society by analyzing Nick Belvedere and his fundamental ways, routines and egotistical changes in power. With this, we aim to not only tell a story, but empower those affected by a narcissistic abusive relationship, of which anyone can be a victim.
In our stylistic version of post-modern day narcissism we follow Nick Belvedere who impacts the lives of many women. Each female character we bring to life relates differently to Nick, resulting in a unity of women that will band together and stand up against him. We want to show women defying the stereotype of being taken advantage of and establishing a movement to diminish abuse and tyranny of narcissism. This awareness will go a long way to help many people. Our way of storytelling will allow us to focus on the problems that people are too afraid to “speak” out on.
This film focuses on inspiring women and men alike from anyone who believe they can not leave a situation they feel trapped in. As we encourage bystanders who know of this to also take a stand make a difference to help victims and abusers get the help they need.
The Film and What We Have So Far
We’re all finished with filming the short. Meaning, we’ve shot it all, and now we’re on to post production. It takes time to tell this story, and we don’t want to take any shortcuts. We want it done right! So here we are, with a 17 minute short film, ready to take the next leap. We are here to garner the support make this what it needs to be; a revenge story.
What We Need:
Post – Production
Post-production is a heavy beast to tackle. From editing to sound and from colouring to visual effects, post is something many try to bypass. Even with the talented people on board, we still need to tap into some professionals to get Narcissistic to compete at a top level.
Festival Submission Fees
Festivals! You know it! We want you and the whole world to see what Narcissistic is all about. But these festivals have fees for submission. Don’t be alarmed. We’re not going to submit to any and all. We have a comprehensive list of festivals and the deadlines, most of them allowing for us to submit for the early deadline, which is the cheapest, so we get the most bang for our buck.
Press Kit
Every festival demands a press kit for each project. This is basically a package that can include anything from printed scripts to DVD copies. Even blu-ray if it’s a fancy festival. Who knows, maybe a DVD will come your way if you pick the right Perk.
Print
Posters, scripts, packages. These all need to get done.
Fees
We can’t bypass our talented friends at Kickstarter. Even they need to feed their cats.

We Need You!
Having filmed already the majority of the project, we stand in a much better place than we did months ago. But we’re still not there yet. With your help we can finish off our short film and show the world what truly happens to Nick Belvedere.
Filmmaking is expensive, and there is no way we’d be able to do it without your support. It is our backers and fans who make this possible. After all… it takes a village. Kickstarter offers us a direct link to YOU! Our loyal supporter. Be part of our amazing journey!
How It Works
You choose your reward and make your pledge. When the campaign ends, and the total amount of pledges meets or exceeds our goal, then (and only then) will the pledges be collected. If we do not reach our goal, then we do not receive anything. But only a narcissist would enjoy seeing us suffer that much! :(
Rewards We have quite a variety of rewards for each pledge amount. Every penny we collect will be put on screen and allow us to bring our dream to film festivals.
Stretch Goals:
$6000 : If we reach our PHASE 2 goal, we can get top tier music from a professional company. We have a few sources in mind who know of us and are willing to negotiate a deal. Let’s show them what we’re made of! With that we will also be able to submit to more festivals, therefore increasing our chances to be seen around the world!
$7500 : PHASE 3! We’re in the big leagues now! Reaching this will allow us to market our short film at festivals. Be it through target marketing campaigns or just at the festival with flyers. This will ensure that narcissistic makes the impact it deserves. Phase 3 will also allow us to have a professional company consult on our press kit and guarantee it to be at industry standard.

RISKS
Film is a complicated business, and often unforeseen difficulties arise, causing budget and scheduling overruns. That being said, we are an experienced group and have successfully completed and released numerous short films. We have produced drama heavy projects in the past, and see no reason why we shouldn’t continue to accomplish our goals. On the plus side, this film is largely complete. A great deal of the risk in the project has already been mitigated, and we are too far along to turn back and give up.
