AirGreen has developed a technology for air conditioning that maximizes efficiency at all conditions. It saves 60% of energy used by managing humidity in the most efficient way. It also greatly improves indoor air quality, health and comfort all year
AirGreen was formed in June 2014 and built the first large prototype in August that was independently tested at Kington University, ON. The results were good and we went on to make a Beta unit that was tested by an HVAC test laboratory in October 2015. A second Beta unit has been completed and is ready for installation on a customer’s site.
Several companies have been trying to commercialize liquid desiccant based processes but only AirGreen has succeeded in building a cost-effective design that has all the characteristics needed by customers. Our base patent is filed and when granted will provide good protection. We have a higher performance than any competitor and we are more cost-effective than any other technology with paybacks typically less than 3 years and frequently we are the lowest capital cost for quality outside air treatment.
The products handle the removal of humidity from both outside and inside air while also cleaning the air better than filters and with a lower pressure drop. Humidity has become the biggest problem in all new and refitted buildings because conventional systems cannot handle the humidity load well once the sensible (thermal) load is reduced by better insulation. We also provide flexibility on the energy source used for two reasons: AirGreen equipment can be run on any source of cooling – water or refrigerant- and is ideal with ground-source (geothermal) and with solar thermal (hot water). Secondly we use the minimum temperature differentials and therefore the least primary energy.
We have a team of four executives who know the industry well and have a wide range of contacts with customers, installers and other HVAC companies who want to partner in distribution and sales. We have filed international patents in the major HVAC markets worldwide and will expand overseas by means of these partnerships using licensing contracts. We are ready to raise funding for the first commercial products and residential products will follow soon.
Commercial air conditioner providing 2,000 to 2,500cfm of fully treated Outside Air to 65-70oF, 30 to 50% RH. The unit is supplied with chilled water at 60oF and hot water at 130oF either from a Heat Pump or from renewable sources. At typical Florida conditions the gross tonnage is 20 to 25 Tons. Smaller units are available to order for 1,000 and 1,500cfm. Larger units up to 20,000cfm can be formed by stacking modular units. Conditioned Outside Air is supplied all year round including heating and added humidity in winter. More complete technical information is available on our website www.airgreenllc.com.
This unique product treats, cleans and makes air bacterio-static while saving 60% of energy. It is especially suitable for healthcare, education, supermarket, retail, office, and industrial
Design work has started on a residential unit based on a 2 ton heat pump that will be better than a 4 ton conventional system. The first field trial units are expected to be available in 2017.
As the Founder of AirGreen, Andrew is President and CEO and has been an energy innovator and senior R&D manager for over 30 years. His work has taken him from corporate innovation at British Gas to positions at the highest levels of government in the U.K. Cabinet Office and the European Commission where he set up programs of Technology Assessment. Andrew helped manage a small technology innovation company based in Phoenix and became an expert with liquid desiccant systems. Andrew will be the technical leader on product performance and design. He was Program Chair of the ASHRAE Technical Committee on Desiccants. Andrew has a degree in Mathematics from Bristol University, UK and a Masters in Operations Research from Imperial College, London, UK. His career highlights include:
• Three years as Energy Advisor to Prime Minister Thatcher and European Union governments
• 20 year career in corporate innovation at British Gas
• 16 years in two start-up technology development companies.
Jim has over 25 years experience in the energy industry. Jim is an expert with the design, development, and implementation of HVAC equipment. He is frequently consulted by corporate and outside engineers for complex projects.
Jim’s implementation work ranges from conducting energy conservation audits to developing Performance Contracting projects to designing and project managing the installation of cogeneration plants.
As Director of Engineering at a CSP, he created load curtailment strategies that enabled customers to participate in Electric Grid Demand Response Programs. Jim has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University and is a Certified Energy Manager by the Association of Energy Engineers. He has received local and national awards for accomplishments in the energy field. He is a member of ASHRAE and AEE. He is on the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of AEE Board and is a past Chapter President.
Jim leverages 25 years of outside sales and sales management. He’s sold high-end commercial HVAC equipment (including competitive liquid desiccant systems) and industrial service contracts to leading corporations, the DoD and other organizations.
Jim has developed and implemented successful sales programs and trained numerous sales professions in the art of matching customer needs with solutions while developing long-term relationships based on trust and mutual success.
Ron brings over 30 years of knowledge and experience in non-woven technology. He has created entirely new non-woven products that are widely used in industrial and commercial markets world-wide. He was the first to commercialize spunbond fabrics for use energy conservation in residential and commercial buildings as House-wraps, including Tyvek, Typar and other brands.
Since 2006, Ron has been President of OnWay International, LLC, which provides nonwoven and fiber forming technology and information to clients worldwide. While he was vice-president of business development for BBA Group, plc. (1995-2000), the Non-woven Division grew from $200 million to over $800 million to become the third largest non-woven producer in the world.
After leaving BBA Group, Ron started up VersaCore Industrial Corp, which pioneered the VersaCore process for converting two-dimensional fabrics and films into three-dimensional structures. The technology was sold is now owned by a Fortune 100 company.
