Business Description
I make Pupusas, which is a traditional Salvadoran corn tortilla. It can be filled with everything from cheese to beans. I have been making Pupusas since I started working in my mom’s Pupuseria when I was 10. Moving to the U.S., I brought this tradition with me and I continued to making and selling Pupusas.
I am making the Pupusas at home in my kitchen and the customers are coming to my house to pick up their orders. This way, I can take care of my children at the same time as I am making a living. My greatest challenge is that I am not able to meet the demand from the customers.
What is the purpose of this loan?
With a Kiva loan, I would be able to invest in new kitchen equipment needed to make Pupusas. The new equipment will allow me to increase my production and I will be able to take on a greater amount of orders from clients.
With the new equipment, I expect my revenue and profit to increase by 30% as I currently am not able to meet the clients request using my current equipment. With a loan of $2000, I will be able to expand my business and make a greater contribution to the family economy.
