Single parent Mildred is a mother to 3 kids ranging from 8 to 15 years old. At the age of 46, Mildred is still working hard to look after her family. Mildred says she learned a lot about how to save money and make extra income as she was the breadwinner for her siblings when they became orphaned. This was a huge responsibility, and they were still young. Mildred has been working informally for the past few years and would like to now have a sustainable business.
As of last month, Mildred has been working as a Zoona mobile agent. Mildred participated in all of the training that Zoona offers to help her within the business. She is slowly creating a client base and with this has daily transactions from which she earns an income. Mildred is requesting a loan from Kiva in order to attain a branded kiosk which will advertise her services (like in the photo). She knows that advertising and word-of-mouth from her customers will help grow her business effectively.
Mildred is working hard in her business in order to earn an income that she can invest for her children’s future studies. As she is growing old, she used to worry about retirement, but with this business she sees herself being able to sustain herself without depending on her children when they are older. Mildred thanks all Kiva lenders in advance for their support.
