Infinite Air is a female-driven narrative that is minimal, raw, and most importantly, completely relatable. In the roughly 7 minutes this short covers, we meet Ana (played by Meredith Hama-Brown), a woman on her wedding day stealing some time away from the party to speak alone with her friend, Chris (played by Kamran Fulleylove). We watch as she faces the age-old maxim: beware of getting what you want.
From their time together, we see this isn’t merely a platonic relationship and we watch as Ana considers that what she wants may only be the chase. I’ve been trying to find a way to explore this theme that’s prominent in depth psychology for some time, taking the Oscar Wilde quote, “there are only two tragedies in life: one is getting exactly what one wants, the other is not getting it,” as the inspiration. The idea of a “magical other” has interested me and I think a wedding day where we see a woman struggling in some small way with this concept is the perfect opportunity to explore this idea and encourage others to think about how these concepts apply to their lives.
We’re using the Vancouver Rowing Club in Stanley Park as the setting for this short. After attending a wedding there two years ago, I dreamed up this story. The clubhouse has a multi-tiered deck/dock area that allows for more private conversations that are still close to the wedding venue.

GOAL: $5K for the ~7-minute short
On top of the money I am contributing personally to this project, I’m looking to raise $5,000 to pay for all the equipment rentals, cast & crew members, location, wardrobe, and post-production costs. Making something to be proud of doesn’t come cheap, and below you can see the cost breakdown (in %):
As you can see from the chart, the major costs I’m facing are renting equipment, paying my crew a fair wage, and post-production expenses. I’m not looking to pay myself anything for the film, I just want to ensure the people that are participating in my passion project are recognized fairly.
To cut costs, I’m wearing many hats, and earning a whole new respect for people who work in this industry every day.
Anyone interested in contributing to my campaign even with all the what the actual F going on in the world right now is casting a vote for creative, thought-provoking content. Thanks for doing what you can to make this creative project happen!
