Vy Group’s story

This is a group of two members represented by Vy, who is appears on the right of the photo. She is 51 years old, married, and lives with her husband and three children in a village in the Kampong Cham province of Cambodia. Since 1991, she and her husband have been working together on the lotus farm to earn income to support the family’s living. Both of them typically makes around 6 US dollars per day.

She would like to use her loan share to grow more lotuses. She says this investment will allow her to increase her crop yields as well as her family’s profits. With the profits from this season’s harvesting, she is going to enlarge her farm and renovate her house.

This loan is aimed at low-income and financially excluded families living in remote areas of Cambodia.
